Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumMarta and I went to lunch, 1st time in public for my black Bernie shirt
First we were dropping off items at the food pantry. They were just opening up. But the helpers ALL knew Bernie and praised him for his support of the poor.
Then off to lunch. I was walking away from the order counter and a gray haired lady commented loudly on the shirt from 25-30 feet away. I went to shake her hand. She said "he is the best candidate bar none." How could I disagree with that? She too went to see Bernie in early July when he was in Council Bluffs, IA. She donates at least once a month. And she has a Bernie shirt too. Her friend sitting next to her is a Bernie fan also.
Then as I was at the drink fountain an employee pointed at my shirt and I got a huge smile and a thumbs up.
I can't wait to get out and about again with my shirt on.
Feel the Bern!

(62,425 posts)We made a "George W. Bush - Worst President Ever" shirt back @ 2003 or so.
I was scared I would get swung at when I wore it out in public - to a red city no less.
We went to lunch and I could hardly get a bite in between folks coming over to shake my hand, thank me etc. Somebody even bought my lunch!
Way to go Steve! Keep it up.

The best way to advocate is to tell a story. The narrative is what is important. Humans are a story telling species.
You get that!

(18,791 posts)My box of new stuff from the Bernie Store arrives this Friday...includes both the white and blue T shirts...they will go in the wash immediately as we are going to a smallish Street Fair on Saturday in El Segundo, CA (right next to LAX) and I want to wear my shirt...I'm also going to take along a few flyers in my backpack, just in case.
Lastly, I drove over this morning to our mega mall to Barnes and Noble...called first and asked if they had the Bernie Time magazine in...the gal said, let me go look, came back and said "the issue with Bernie on the front?" I said yes...she then said they had about 12 copies but it was probably a good idea to hurry, as they would sell fast!

(12,882 posts)But I do have Bernie bumper stickers on the rear windows of our cars. The other day, the electric meter reader walked past as he went from house to house. He saw me and pointed at one of the stickers - "I like that! That's what we need!" Of course, I agreed.
