It's not about Sanders so much as about HRC and any kind of a challenge. Because it really doesn't take much to challenge HRC on the issues.

But did you watch the video? Have you ever seen the video of her debating Romney? It's rather epic. I think if you put her on a national stage where she has a platform, she'll resonate with people in the same way Bernie does. The only reason she does lose in all honesty is because she doesn't have the exposure that the 2 parties has. As far as Jewish, ethnically yes but religiously, he's described himself as a "secular Jew".

She has nothing to offer electorally, she carries the third Party history some would call a stigma, she's also from the NE, also over 65. Not a Democrat and with a history of running against Democrats. Then losing, but still. Not caucusing with, running against. Big difference.

...Bernie has never stated that he is an atheist. He has stated that he "is not very religious." Too completely different things.

(I am an atheist, so I wouldn't care if Bernie is one. But many voters would care.)

..."secular" means that his spiritual faith is his business and that it doesn't come into play in the way he governs. (Meaning he won't be shoving his beliefs down any else's throat.) It does not mean he does not believe in God - most believers equate atheism with having no morals, so saying that Bernie is an atheist when he hasn't said so himself is not doing him any favors.
