This is a grassroots rally lead by an organizer who has 20 years of protest and rally organizing experience. We will not ask you for any money and everyone is responsible for their own materials regarding signs and banners.

We have an amazing announcement. Dr Cornel West will march with us and speak when we rally at the Lincoln Memorial. Dr. West is an outspoken civil rights activist, professor, intellectual, and author. His presence with us will help us all make history. We will build an even greater groundswell for Bernie together at this historic event.

It is up to YOU to make this happen with us. In order to build we need a minimum of 50 volunteers to commit at least 30 minutes every day to spreading this event all around facebook. Out of thousands of attendees we know there are 50 of you who can spend 30 minutes daily posting this event. This 30 minutes can be at any time of day that works for you and doesn't have to be the same time every day. On the details of the rally:

Is the rally legal?

Yes it is. Under the First Amendment of the US Constitution citizens have a right to free speech and to demonstrate on public property. The mall is no different. We have organized and attended large 20K plus person rallies on the mall that were not permitted. There is no illegality in this. No one was arrested. As long as we are peaceful, which we will be, no one will be arrested. We will not have a bandstand, TVs, or other permanent fixtures. We will be moving, we will congregate at the end and speeches may be made through bullhorns. Our ending congregation will last about one hour. This is not illegal. The people telling you that it is have not oganized a rally, ever. They have no interest in attending any rally. They have one sole purpose and that is to sabotage the run Bernie is making for president.

Where?

We will map a one mile course through the Mall and we will evaluate what that course will be closer to the event. there are a few construction projects going on in the mall now and those need to be considered on a current basis, closer to the date. All attendees will receive regular updates at minimum weekly.

Will Bernie be there?
Bernie is aware of the event. There is no guarantee he will be there. Announcements about any speakers of note will be made as they are confirmed.


Why don't you list this on the campaign website?

This rally, like many other large rallies planned by individuals across the country, will not be listed on the Bernie website. The reason being, we are not campaign employees and this is not a campaign event, though several of us are active volunteers for the campaign, and the campaign will not control this large scale event. No large scale rallies that are not planned by the campaign are on their site. We are not on the campaign website because FCC standards prohibit the campaign sponsring this or any other large rallies that are not of its own making.

It will be too cold in November.

The average temperate in DC on November 28 is 45 degrees. It may be colder, it may not. We recommend that everyone wear layers and warm shoes and gloves in order to be comfortable.

BUT YOU SET THIS ON A HOLIDAY WEEKEND!

There were many timing considerations when choosing the best date to do this rally. First, there was a rally of 111K people that was floundering for months which we had to wait to see finish, and it finally did on October 5, 2015 when those organizers, for whatever their problems were (one we believe putting money in the equation) finally pulled the plug. We created this rally on October 6. There are considerable underhanded doings going on RIGHT NOW as far as corporate media maniupulating the debate results, Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the DNC manipulating there being hardly any debates, and the time we must act is NOW. The early primaries are in February, Super Tuesday the first week of March, and the weather in DC gets too bitter to do this at Christmas time or in January or February. So, we are doing it on a weekend where a lot of people don't have to work Friday or Saturday and we are sorry for the inconvenience but this is the firm date and it will not change. Families are welcome and there will be children there.

TRANSPORATION

Check our facebook event page form the link we posted above - you can look look for shared transporation in your area to the rally. A Rally Bus can be booked from your area for a minimum of 25 passengers. We are not Rally Bus and have no deals with Rally Bus, they are a separate service and we profilt nothing from you using their service to get ayour group to the event.

YOUR SIGN OR BANNER

Please start thinking now of having your own large sign made or banners are even better. All we ask is that you refrain from any and all hate speech. We ask that you feature BERNIE'S name prominently at the top of our sign. Other than that please highlight whatever issue is important to you: Corporate Welfare, big banks, institutionalzied racism, Black Lives Matter, Free college, crippling college debt, the 1% paying their fair share of taxes, the DNC choking of democracy by limtiing debates, corporate media lying to the public, gay rights, women's rights, healthcare, family leave, wage inequality, fair minimum wage, UNIONS.

People should bring their signs to the rally, drums are also a great thing to have, If you have a bullhorn, bring it.

VOLUNTEERS

We need day of rally volunteers who will have their own bullhorn. (40 bucks on Amazon) We are looking for 20 volunteers who will meet with us before the rally and understand the route we are walking. They will be placed at positions around the walking crowd to give instructions and make sure everything remains on track.
