(37,152 posts)I was looking forward to a debate with a first-rate moderator. Bummer.

(41,171 posts)does her homework and asks the tough questions. It will be conducted in front of an audience, at the Winthrop Univ. I'm pretty sure which will make it more lively than a TV studio set.

(41,171 posts)will also *appear there. I'll search more tomorrow & try to post an update. Online info. about this is kind of mixed.

(37,152 posts)Guess that's why it's called a forum. Oh well...

(41,171 posts)with each other that's technically a Debate and not a Forum. So all hell would break loose with the DNC-- if I understood correctly. We'll find out tonight how they manoueuver around 'violations' I guess.
On Sunday there's a Forum on Immigration with Bernie and O'Malley livestreamed from Las Vegas, 4 PM PT noted in The Nation. The info. is posted in GD-P by elleng.

(50,983 posts)Rachel insisted Bernie's positions were too liberal. She said Obama's positions were far more centrist yet he couldn't even get them passed.
Tell me how Obama used the bully pulpit to fight for single payer, Rachel. Tell me how Obama fought to end the Bush tax cuts, Rachel.
Establishment shillRachel Maddow.
No one ever had such a mandate. Oh, what could have been.

imo Rachel would no longer have her own show if she didn't lean (or at least pretend to lean) toward HRC. "Lean Forward" my ass!

(41,171 posts)Also didn't care for her style of questioning Bernie last week with no discussion at all and her skeptical facial gestures, although people raved about the show for the earlier part on HRC and DOMA that I missed.
This Forum tonight will be interesting and I wonder IF Rachel will bring up this week's disastrous revelations about the TPP that Bernie has opposed for two years. She usually doesn't, or can't talk about the TPP, Net Neutrality, Keystone and other taboo corporate subjects.
MSNBC has been promoting tonight's forum all afternoon like a boxing match- Kornacki, Toad and Matthews.
On Sunday, there's another *Dem. Forum on Immigration, with Bernie and O'Malley, livestreamed from Las Vegas, 4 PM PT noted in The Nation. The info. is posted in GD-P by elleng.
I read somewhere that IF the 3 Dem. candidates appear in person, on the same stage, AND have exchanges with each other, that is technically a Debate, not a Forum. Such a violation would incur the wrath of the DNC and DWS, and who knows what else. Although I don't quite get all the terms and conditions and distinctions of these events.
