COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) The Democratic primary candidates are disagreeing over changes in marijuana laws as they campaign in South Carolina.
Hillary Rodham Clinton says the drug should be reclassified by the government to allow federally sponsored research into its effects. She would also lift restrictions on getting marijuana for medical studies.
She did not endorse federal legalization of the drug for either medical or recreational use.
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders says Clinton's proposal ignores the major issue and that he would give states the ability to legalize the drug by removing it from the Food and Drug Administration's list of controlled substances.

(14,459 posts)And not liking it one bit. It must be really hard to keep up with all of the -moral stances- they've drawn lines in the sand for for her to just pick a place that looks safer to stand without promising anything.
I -almost- feel for them, but the status quo is hurting/killing a LOT of people. It has to change.

(15,480 posts)Damn cancer-riddled hippies - wanting proven medical relief for pain & suffering without organizing to provide a substantial "donation" to the Clinton Family Foundation. Being in fear for their lives or the lives of their loved ones is no excuse for ignoring the Clinton Rules.
If they gave a hefty chunk to the CFF, Hill would quickly evolve her opinion & Bill would be "expediting" growing operations in multiple 3rd world countries - of course the CFF would skim a percentage off the top, as per usual.
Plus, if relatives of cancer patients have to buy the drug illegally, they can be arrested and thrown into a privatized jail. Now those private prison folks know how politics works - notice HRC may have given lip service against private jails, now that her focus groups approved it - but she hasn't returned one red cent of private prison operators campaign $$$.

"Don't worry, Oscar, you will."
