And check Friday evening for one of CTYankee's art posts, always awesome.
There are many, many reasons to come back to DU, if only a limited way to save ones sanity.
My best wishes to dorkzilla.

Of all the money that e'er I had
I spent it in good company
And all the harm I've ever done
Alas, it was to none but me
And all I've done for want of wit
To memory now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be to you all
So fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate'er befalls
Then gently rise and softly call
"Good night and joy be to you all"
Of all the comrades that e'er I had
They're sorry for my going away
And all the sweethearts that e'er I had
They'd wish me one more day to stay
But since it fell into my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and softly call
"Good night and joy be to you all"
But since it fell into my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and softly call
"Good night and joy be to you all"
So fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate'er befalls
Then gently rise and softly call
"Good night and joy be to you all"
Good night and joy be to you all

(Dave Webber)
Soon the morning sun will rise,
And dawn will bathe the sky.
There's time for just this parting song,
Before we say goodbye.
Chorus:
So sing together one and all,
And raise a glass of wine,
Here's hoping we will meet again,
Along the road of time.
We've shared our stories, yours and mine,
We've shared our hopes and fears.
With memories of distant youth,
We've both rolled back the years.
The ever-turning, fateful wheel,
Must cause our ways to part.
And bringing untold mysteries,
Another day will start.
For from endings come beginnings,
From the old shall come the new,
With hopes for tomorrow,
We'll see our parting through.

(7,475 posts)Important and interesting people on DU are leaving. I know these are stressful times. Sometimes we need to take a break. I hope those who leave will join us again when things get better.
I have been around since 2005, have seen so much and have felt as others do. I don't post too often but I follow DU dail.y (many times) I can't get into arguments with posters. I pitch in when I can, avoid controversy, appreciate most of the opinions of others but I feel thatI must pull back on my postings when I know I will get into a situation where I must follow through with my opinion when I know I will be flogged! Sometimes those who leave do so for personal reasons and that is understandable. I am too old to cope with some of the stress so I avoid it.
This next year will be a field day. I wish us all luck and hope our members just avoid the stress and keep reading.
Don't leave, just read, curse if you must but don't go way.

(2,968 posts)But have you considered instead of throwing the baby out with
the bath water just staying with the Bernie group? I see so many
people coming in here upset because of something that happened
in one of the other groups. I don't understand why they go there.
Quite frankly I don't think they will convince anybody about anything.
Hillary supporters in DU will not change their minds. This group
allows you to blow off steam if need be. Are you going to totally disengage
from the campaign?

(6,335 posts)And keep in touch with the news and procrastinate from tough decisions chores etc. Of course I dont get into any flame wars. Bernie would be my choice but Hillary would be 1000% better than any Republican which would be a catastrophe.
