Related: About this forumThere is now a ban the bug, swatter, spray, etc poll in GD CLOSED!!
Some felt this was META and I crossed that line enough last week. Early results are there however.

(2,968 posts)Personally I say leave it. There's too much regulation, alerts,etc. here.
The fly wandering around drives me a little crazy but what the heck. By the
way what started it? It must have been a confrontation between Hill supporters
and Bernie people? Did they complain that Bernie people are like flies or something?
I'm guessing it started as an insult? Actually if that's the case then flies multiply
like crazy. The Hills are going to be inundated soon!

(592 posts)in my view the bug represents more than just the Loonix ban, it is a statement of support of all of those who have been run off from the site, whether is due to infamous trollers or the admins and individuals becoming so frustrated, they act before counting to ten.
So in essence, the bug is about free speech.
I think many of those who post the swatters don't understand that the bug is not about any of the candidates, but view it that way now. The origin of it was simply a very uncool message of 'good riddance' in regards to Loonix. Not cool.
So in essence, the messaging of the bugs have morphed away from the origin.
Simple solution to ending it in my mind, is for admins to take another look at Loonix's post, and reconsider a reinstatement. Sort of an instant replay after a week on any ban. I felt he was banned unjustifiably, but that is the admin decision to make, still my bug stands in support of Loonix, a reconsideration and a sign of my freedom of expression here.
When I have been selected for juries, I will almost always vote to leave it alone unless it is simply beyond the pale.
