Bernie Sanders

?1450201897Call me a flip flopper. Call me a socialist. Call me naïve, but whatever you do dont call me a BernieBro.
I wrote some diaries in support of Hillary Clinton back in Oct of this year. But since then Ive done some searching and come to the decision that I cannot miss my chance to show America that we socialists are here and ready to lead!
Bernie Sanders is giving a voice to the America that I want us to become! Bernie Sanders is representing my world view on the national stage for the first time in my lifetime. I cannot overstate how good it feels to support Bernie, I feel the movement of our nation and know Im trying to help move us in the correct direction.
>snip<
Less than one year till Election Day there is much to do but if we work hard we can save the Ship of State from sinking. Weve been rowing this ship for so long I think it time to drop our oars and put full stop on the 1% plans. Bernie Sanders is a American hero and we need to believe in him. I at first in this election cycle was scared that he couldnt win. I feared if we lose 2016 its going to be hard to come back from. My wife support Bernie before me and during a discussion about policy I cried really hard. I cried because I knew I wanted Sen. Sanders to win because I believed in him, and I cried because I was scared it couldnt happen. I clung to Hillarys poll numbers to help me feel safe about next year. I cried long and hard thinking of what would happen if Trump/Graham/Carson were allowed to win, if we were too divided to come together. I can see now that clinging to anything even an acceptable candidate betrays democracy. Im not supposed to vote based on what I think would win easily. Im supposed to vote because I want to make my desires known.
Truth be told when I voted for Obama I half-hoped the Republicans were right. That he would be our first socialist president and stick it to them! Hes was in reality as he said, a democratic centrist, which is fine we needed him at that time of turmoil. Now we have a chance to move America forward in the greatest leap since FDR, We cannot afford to miss this chance.
I know in my heart that if we can elect Bernie his youth voter draw will sweep more democrats into office like 08. Lets do this! For social justice! For single payer! For every American!
I am a Proud America and I support Sen. Bernie Sanders For president of the United States in 2016.

(19,089 posts)For me, it was love at first sight ... I knew instantaneously, the moment that I read his policies and his history, that he would get my vote ...
We have not had the opportunity to vote for a bona fide progressive in a very long while and while the last couple of liberal candidates were stymied and drew little support, Bernie has the fire inside that is drawing massive support to his standard ...
We aren't there yet, but we have a huge head of steam and the potential to blow past the record books, and perhaps even overturn the congressional majority ...
Welcome !

(ps: I feel it very unfair when callers in to the show demote Thom Hartmann to 'Professor')

(45,251 posts)Bernie, but I Hillary will have a better chance in the general." I switched them both. Now, all my friends and family are Sanders' supporters.
Of course, as soon as all my friends and family became Sanders supporters, they became awful people. So, now, none of us speak to each other anymore.
But it was worth it.

(3,544 posts)Welcome my friend. If you want to feel it again, view the interview with Killer Mike. I had no idea who Mike was until I viewed the interview. It moved me in so many ways. And one of the best things I can say about it was "I felt the Bern" all over again. It's a great feeling.

(4,532 posts)I've supported Bernie since his official announcement speech in Burlington last spring. But before that I have been doing a lot of research on different economic systems and theories. I'm no capitalist OR communist and I dont usually call myself a socialist either. When economic systems come up in conversation I usually just define my stance as a progressive. But in reality my views line up almost directly with DEMOCRATIC Socialism. I do agree on many issues with Marxist Economist Richard Wolff and I have been studying up on Marxist Socialism (NOT communism) at Marxist.net. So far my views haven't changed. I am a proud progressive most of all.
WHEN CRABS ROAR
(3,813 posts)Now is the time for a real progressive populist movement, but the message needs to be clear and not overly complex and it needs to be repeated over and over to drive it home into the minds of the people.
Then Bernie will win.
