Democrat Bernie Sanders, Republican Jim Gilmore to top 2016 Massachusetts primary ballots

Democrat Bernie Sanders and Republican Jim Gilmore will come out on top in Massachusetts' presidential primary.

On top of the ballot, that is.

Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin on Tuesday spun a golden drum filled with names to determine the order in which the presidential candidates will appear on their parties' ballots in Massachusetts' March 1 presidential primary.

On the Democratic Party ballot, Sanders, the independent senator from Vermont, will be named first, followed by Martin O'Malley and then Hillary Clinton.

Voters must register by Feb. 10. Voters who are registered as independent can vote in any party's primary.
