I Was Canvassing For Bernie In Dayton, Ohio, And Ended Up In A Rap Video

My part, a discussion on the racist origins of the modern drug war begins around 1:50. A wonderful song with a reflective message and plea for peace.

Artist: Prinsess ft. Redd & Mollie Sumlin
Song: "Gone Too Soon"

It has to stop! That knuckle dragger racist with the gun was a real piece of work.

I hope you win your election, David. This country needs more politicians like you and Bernie to stop the violence and insanity. It's reaching a boiling point. Something's got to give. Starting with police departments.

PEACE

We must train our police forces to be de-escalators of tension, instead of what we so often see on our video screens. While I fully understand and support the need to forcefully apprehend a criminal suspect who is forcefully resisting, what we are seeing too often nowadays are instances of police going to level 10 immediately. Unless a suspect is wanted for a violent crime, there is no need to approach people aggressively, which often leads to a bad outcome, and alienates police from the citizenry.
