X-post GD.P. Saturday night 2016 Democratic debate gets lowest ratings of any debate this year

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/latest-dem-debate-lowest-ratings-year-article-

The 2016 Democratic debate on Saturday night got the lowest TV ratings of any debate this cycle, preliminary figures released Sunday showed.

About 6.71 million viewers tuned into the prime-time debate between Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley, Nielsen data showed, well below all of the other Democratic and Republican debates this year.

The viewership for the two-hour debate — held on the Saturday night before Christmas and moderated and televised by ABC — had been expected to be low.

The previous Democratic debate on Nov. 14 in Nevada, which was also held on a Saturday night, drew 8.5 million viewers.

Gee, thanks Deb!

If the Democratic Party is too stupid to run a fair nomination process, and not one where they obviously don't want people to know the differences between the candidates, then they have lost my automatic vote, up the ticket and down.

If Hillary and DWS cannot see they are alienating an unreasonable number of Democrats or would-be Democrats with their debate-rigging scheme, then they have their heads in the sand.

Since everyone, Sanders supporters as well, have to admit that Hillary is doing well in debates so far, why not eliminate this thorn from the side of the Democratic Party and call for more debates? Is it because of DWS' ego? Not a good principle to stand on. Is it because they are afraid they would lose? Again, not a good principle to stand on. We are supposed to be picking the person that Democrats think will be their most effective leader, let's make it a true test. Is it because they are convinced we are all going to "hold our nose" and vote their way anyway? That is only going to go so far. We have been losing elections recently because too many people are holding their noses and not volunteering, not contributing, and not voting.

we may end up with a Republican President, but hopefully not, hopefully this COUNTRY will not be STUPID enough to vote in a Donald Trump. We need to get out the vote for a democratic president. I am in a Blue state, so I know where California stands... but Red states and those who lean towards the Red, have to be tackled and people made to understand that this country can not be run by an imbecile like Donald Trump.

Most people don't watch the debates in the first place. After a few rounds even more people drop off.
Only people who are seriously engaged politically watched this one. I see it among my own family and friends. Though I do wish they were more engaged.
I think more people tune into the GOP debates because they are funny with so many candidates on stage and some guaranteed goofy statements.

We are PURPOSELY keeping our candidates off television and away from public scrutiny for one of the most important positions in the world.

Is this a fucking game to these people?
