(24,411 posts)...his ground game hasn't even really gotten into full swing. It's just barely starting.
The best is yet to come, for sure. Early January will be when the full brunt of the ground game happens.
I think the HNC's unfair treatment of Bernie--blocking his access to the voter lists--really ticked off a lot of Iowans.
I also think his rallies have been convincing a lot of people. I posted Bernie's rally numbers vs Clinton's, and she barely gets 200-300 people at her events, and he's consistently getting around 1,500, sometimes more. One rally in Dubuque had 2,000.
What blows me away, is that the Sanders campaign has not reached full peak in Iowa. Iowans are paying attention, but they are not fully engaged yet. That happens after the holidays and during the last month before the Feb 1 caucus. So, look out! The best is yet to come. I predict that his crowd sizes explode.
We have to continue working hard. Really hard!!!! Take nothing for granted, but this looks so promising for Sanders. Giddy!!!

(3,649 posts)Is that while the 41/40 split is reminiscent of another NBC Iowa poll taken in September, I don't see any similar NH numbers from them.

(3,649 posts)The numbers posted in the OP are identical to NBC polls taken in September in both Iowa and NH. Found them in the HuffPost Pollster. While it's possible they've been repeated, I think it's more likely the OP misread something and these numbers are actually from September.

(6,282 posts)Hopefully I don't get a shutout 0-7 jury, that'd suck.
I just don't think it's productive to keep this thread around with certainly untrue information.

(3,649 posts)I read the Iowa numbers as Hillary 41, Bernie 40 and almost had a heart attack. Then I reread them and !!!!!!!!!!!!! That's all I can say. HOLY COW

(24,411 posts)I have been saying this since the summer. The dynamics are exactly like they were in 2008. Hillary "the inevitable" running against and underdog.
I knew when I saw Bernie's large crowds throughout Iowa, in the summer, that he was going to follow Obama's Iowa trajectory and end up winning the Iowa caucuses.
I was mocked by Hillary supporters. They laughed at me and used this guy a lot --->
I was repeatedly told, "Sanders is not Obama!!!!" when I tried to point out the similarities in the candidate's trajectories. Furthermore, I know the Iowa electorate. Hillary made a horrible impression here in 2008. You can't plant questions in a town-hall and come away unscathed. You can't run only on inevitability and media favoritism in this state. It just does not work. You can't come in third in our caucuses in 2008, leave the state and talk smack about our caucus system.
I am not surprised by these numbers.
Look at Bernie's crowd numbers vs Hillary's in Iowa, during the first two weeks of December. I think her campaign is really struggling in Iowa.

I don't think there is a lot of enthusiasm here for Hillary. At the end of the day, you have to be authentic in Iowa. She just doesn't come off that way. We all see the media blackout on Bernie and the favoritism toward Clinton. It didn't work though.
I also think that what the HNC did to Bernie (blocking him from his own data), and the Clinton attacks on Bernie, have soured Iowans. So has the media favoritism.
I look back at Obama's numbers--and the first time he numbers surpassed Hillary was November 14, 2007. ABC/Washington Post poll. Obama by 4. Six weeks before the Iowa caucuses, exactly where we are today.
This is such awesome news. I'm so excited. We still have a lot of work to do. So much work. Anything could happen, but this gives me hope. Sanders started out at .8 percent in Iowa and Hillary was at 60.
So proud of my fellow Iowans for really thinking this through and looking beyond "inevitability", the talking points and the corporate media.

(41,600 posts)This country also loves the underdog....especially since our corrupt CORPORATE OWNED MSM has a Bernie Blackout. The 1% thinks the 99% is too stupid to notice what they're doing to try to stop Bernie.
They're going to pay for their corruption.

(41,600 posts)That's just going to continue going up. CORRUPT CORPORATE OWNED POLLSTERS can't hide the truth forever. We go into NH and Iowa with their CORRUPT polls showing HRH ahead at a RIDICULOUS 61% (what a crock) and Bernie wins in a landslide, they will be EXPOSED AS THE FRAUDS THEY ARE.
Yeah, the Truth has to drip out now. Bernie is just too far ahead.

Clinton Loses Ground in Democratic Primary Race
Following Saturday night's debate, the race between the top two contenders for the Democratic presidential nomination is closer than ever, but Hillary Clinton is the heavy favorite among voters who are already certain of their vote in 2016.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey - taken on the two nights after the debate - finds that 46% of Likely Democratic Voters would vote for Clinton if the Democratic presidential primary were held in their state today. Thirty percent (30%) would opt for Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, while seven percent (7%) prefer former Maryland Governor Martin OMalley. Nine percent (9%) like some other candidate, and seven percent (7%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Please post a source link. Otherwise please state the date for this poll which is certainly misleading if it is not a new poll.
