9. Why the FUCK was that hidden? "First Known Use: 1930"

It's straight from Mirriam-Webster's:

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/mook

mook

noun ˈmük

Definition of mook

slang

: a foolish, insignificant, or contemptible person

Origin of mook

perhaps alteration of moke

First Known Use: 1930

And for those who never heard of Mirriam-Webster:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merriam-Webster

Merriam-Webster, Incorporated, is an American company that publishes reference books, especially dictionaries.

In 1831, George and Charles Merriam founded the company as G & C Merriam Co. in Springfield, Massachusetts. In 1843, after Noah Webster died, the company bought the rights to An American Dictionary of the English Language from Webster's estate. All Merriam-Webster dictionaries trace their lineage to this source.

In 1964, Encyclopædia Britannica, Inc., acquired Merriam-Webster, Inc., as a subsidiary. The company adopted its current name in 1982.[1][2]

Those who are reasonably happy don't normally feel the need to make random attacks on others.

I'm surprised that got hidden. Is there an appeals process? Seeings how the e-mail was from a Mook to begin with. (tongue firmly in cheek, thank you very much.)

by Admin. I think people have asked in ATA with no results.

Mostly, them's the breaks and you take your chances, is what I have seen for reply.

Luck of the draw and all that.

I accidentally hit the wrong button and was excused from jury service. Since they only posted a definition with no further comment, I would have voted to let it stand. No way of knowing how the person who replaced me voted, of course.
