At a recent family get-together celebrating our granddaughter's third birthday...

I discovered that 7 of 8 members are voting for Sanders--

☻My wife and I
☻Our 24-year-old daughter, her 23 year-old SO and his mother
☻Our 18 year-old son and his 18 year-old girlfriend.

That 87.5% of the family.

The only person not voting for Sanders is our 3-year-old granddaughter.

Give her time...

I have a firm 3 and a leans Sanders with 2 more. We're in a closed primary state so the 2 can't help until the general, but that gives me time to talk with them some more and solidify their votes.

I do believe Sanders can pull off the upset. If he does we're going to need to do our part. Getting family and friends on board is the way for me.

I think it is a good idea for all to check in with them. It seems to me the closed primaries can hurt a breakthrough candidate such as Sanders. Any voter registered as an independent or currently registered in the opposite party cannot vote in the primaries even if they really want to. Go to [link:http://www.openprimaries.org| to help.

I have to ask for the ballot I want (Dem, duh), but I have had no issues. I can of course only vote in one, but so far the puke governor hasn't managed to mess it up. I guess I'll see in May if it still works.

Here you get a ballot with everyone on it. You can choose whoever you want based on who you believe would be the best in the position they are running for regardless of party affiliation - your own or the candidate's. I wish it was that way everywhere. I think having to declare a party is restrictive. I also think (my personal opinion) that the spouse of the dominant one in a marriage would pay a price for asking for a ballot of the opposite party. I think that is a reality for some : (
