Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumBernie: "I'm getting a good feeling about Iowa"
During a recent three-day swing through Iowa, Bernie Sanders took the stage before 1800 supporters in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and declared that he believes he can win Iowa and New Hampshire, creating a path to victory.
I am getting a really good feeling about Iowa. Last night we were in Sioux City and had about 1200 people out, tonight I think we have about 1500 people out here. [Official crowd estimate, 1800]
So keep it a secret, dont tell anybody: I think we are going to win here, we are going to make history. And I think we have a great chance to win New Hampshire, and if you win Iowa and New Hampshire you have a path to victory.

(58,389 posts)among non-white voters have been consistently growing as well per CNN poll.
A new CNN survey shows that Bernie has demonstrated growing support among what the pollster refers to as non-white voters. In a survey last April, he had only 1 percent of voters in that category. As he has made a concerted effort to reach out to African-Americans and Latinos, Sanders support has grown to an impressive 32 percent in the most recent poll.
Non-white voters
4/16-4/19 1%
5/29-5/31 5%
6/26-6/28 9%
7/22-7/25 12%
9/17-9/19 17%
12/17-12/21 32%
Thanks for the thread, Duckfan.

(7,300 posts)Thanks for posting this! In my reply #30 I explain why I believe the pollsters are missing at least 10 percentage points of Sanders support in their results and you post language from a pollster that helps illustrate my point! Also, it's just plain good news that I wasn't aware of! Thanks again!

Dick Morris: Hillary Hints at Defeat in Iowa and NH
Anticipating the possibility or likelihood of one or two early defeats, she writes: If we lose in Iowa or New Hampshire, were going to need to dig in and work that much harder to make sure we win the nomination. Im going to fight as hard as I can to earn every last vote.
The stunning admission that Sanders might capture one or even both of the two earliest states is unprecedented.

(7,300 posts)Have had that feeling since the first time I happened upon a Brunch with Bernie link when he was a house member. It's my firm belief that the polls are off by at least 10% in favor of our pre-selected candidate. Most (or just a a bunches) of his support is coming from younger folks (under 30) that have never voted or did once but not recently and use the internet almost exclusively for their information and entertainment and much of their communications and social activities. This is why Sanders wins every poll involving the internet, it's the proverbial lion's den of Bernie's supporters. The polling outfits are still behind the technology curve and are still polling too many land line owners and "likely voters" aka recent participants. Helps explain why they were so far off in 2012 also.
So yes! I've a grrrreat! feeling about Iowa, NH, SC and Nevada!
On a side note: Is it sad that I have to check and see if a particular post about good Bernie news is in GDP or Bernie's Group before I respond?

The last time Iowa won was when we had even Republicans like Ike being more liberal and working for the people in better economic times for America then. Let's bring that prosperity back along with Iowa winning the Rose Bowl again.

(19,537 posts)... in the last election.
Romney was first declared the caucus winner there. Falsely. It was in fact later said that Santorum won with more support there than Romney. Then you even had Paul have more delegate strength at the state convention than perhaps his raw numbers reflected, which had a lot of internal battles there to get his delegates to move towards other candidates there.
With the way that caucuses work, and Hillary should know this as she knows she finished THIRD behind both Obama and Edwards in 2008 election, there a lot of ways that things could turn out. It is important to note I think that I believe that many O'Malley supporters feel more drawn to support someone like Bernie as a second choice than Hillary, which in the way caucuses are run, could be a big deal to giving Bernie more delegate support than polls might indicate too. In some places O'Malley might pick up some delegates from Bernie supporters too, where they have more strength in "remaining voters" looking to get a delegate grouping.
