I believe that the strongest ticket to defeat Trump is Joe Biden for President and Kamala Harris for Vice-President. I came to that conclusion by instinct. I have linked you to some polling and analysis that supports my contention. It uses many names, but comes to the same conclusion. I guess you could substitute other names that may also align with the article's findings, but, to me, Biden-Harris is the obvious choice. I have snipped the closing paragraph and linked the article.
<snip>A logical response for Democrats might be to pick a 2020 ticket that combines one candidate best suited to reassure older whites cooling toward Trump with another best positioned to mobilize younger nonwhites who are more unreservedly hostile to him but less inclined to turn out. The new polling results signal that either path could beat Trumpbut that neither is guaranteed to do so.<snip>

(31,113 posts)Problem is ANY mainstream Democrat who runs will be viciously and constantly attacked by a certain group on the LEFT and I cant think of a single DEMOCRAT who could be at the top of the ticket that would avoid this ATTACK and BASHING.
Can you, can anybody?

(31,113 posts)will then not vote, etc.
My observation isnt about the candidates it is about the inevitable damage this group will do NO MATTER who our candidate is as long as it is a Democrat.

(16,887 posts)Biden/Harris or Harris/Biden....
I am happy either way and probably most likely Biden/Harris because the whole country needs to be taken into perspective and key states like Texas etc need to be won....
And Harris excites the women and black base even more....
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

(731 posts)But Biden/Harris would be very strong ticket as well.
The big thing of the campaign, for me personally, is who will be Biden's VP?
Harris is a strong contender IMO.

(115,827 posts)so if he's nominated, whoever he selects as his running mate would have a huge advantage in 2024. I'd be OK with a Biden-Harris ticket. He's not a perfect candidate (actually, none of them are perfect), but he might have the best chance of beating Trump. IMO, that's more important than any ideological or stylistic concerns we might have. He could improve that chance with a running mate like Harris; then she could run for president in 2024 with a strong chance of winning. For now, though, I'll continue to call myself undecided and will wait to see what develops.
