potential nominee, though Democratic presidential candidates are likely to be among Trump's first targets.

If he can get Barr to cooperate -- and so far it appears that he can -- Trump won't hesitate to go after Democratic lawmakers, governors, etc. And any Republicans who dare oppose him, too.

The possibility, or maybe I should say likelihood, that Trump would do this if he ever got an AG as corrupt as Barr could help explain so many Republicans bowing to Trump, or bowing out of politics. I'd be very surprised if there hasn't already been a lot of discussion in Republican circles about what Trump might do with the Justic Department under his thumb.

If I were to vote in a presidential

Barr has shown that he will do anything that Trump asks him to.

First, he seems to understand media messaging, so when something like this happens, he'll have a good answer. He gives a polite fuck off and says, this is about America.

Second, as the youngest candidate, his lack of experience is an advantage. There is much less to go after.

Third, the worst thing about him is already out there, and he's out and proud. In the eyes of many, that's the worst possible crime. They might not even notice a BS investigation. So the BS will not get as much oxygen from the rabid right, while most other people don't care that he's gay.

My brother is a Republican too, but at least he's not the kind who cares about what's in your bedroom, so we can have a decent conversation.
