NYC mayor says he'll decide this month on presidential run

NEW YORK — New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio will announce this month whether he is joining the growing list of candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for president, he said Thursday.

"I'm going to make my decision in the month of May and as soon as we have something to tell you we'll tell you," de Blasio said at a news conference on crime statistics.

The announcement of an impending announcement came after several weeks of the second-term mayor saying he would decide "sooner rather than later" whether he's running for president.

Signs that he is likely to run include trips to early voting states like Iowa and New Hampshire and a $5,000-a-head fundraiser at a Boston construction company.

The only people who doesn't think Bill de Blasio is a joke is Bill de Blasio and his family.

There are many New York Democrats who have a very low opinion of him. Myself included.

For one thing, the transit system is a disaster and getting worse, public housing is a complete mess, homelessness isn't being handled well, it seems he sides with the money people and on and on it goes.

Now all those things can't be laid solely at his feet like the transit system, but there is a sense in the city that we are free floating and he's not taking charge. He has a huge city system that should be taking his focus and he takes too many trips away from the city and now he's focusing on running/or not for pres.

don't run for higher office if you haven't succeeded in your current responsibilities!

Our new Mayor, Derek Kawakami, ran on fixing the transportation system(Buses).. and he's done a fantastic job. I'm so impressed and happy with it now.

'Course this is Kauai and his job is NYC.. so. But, excel in the job you have instead of looking for other pastures.

He's mayor until 2021, eh? Any good leaders waiting in the wings so to speak?

Thanks!

Stacey Abrams (D)?
Bill de Blasio (D)?

then you have 3 billionaires who may jump in IF (it wont happen) Bernie is in danger of winning our nomination

2 who would run as Dems

Joe Sanberg
Michael Bloomberg

and the indie wrecker

Howard Schultz

On the Rethug side you have Trump, Weld, and maybe Kasich, Corker, and Hogan
