Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumMSNBC.. commentators are human too... some on the channel cannot help themselves
they invested their emotion in a particular candidate..and the fact that at this point in time.. Joe Biden is beating the socks off everyone.. has them turning themselves inside out to try and keep it balanced.. we are all human.. we are Democrats.. and we fall in love basically with who we want to see take the office..
But honest to pete Chris H you have to get a grip... its hard...I appreciate that.. because it was harder than hell for me to support Hillary or if Bernie had taken the nod.. It would have been hard to support him..because I put all my energy into O'Malley.. and like Elizabeth Warren.. he had actual proposals.. but there you have it.. some things are not meant to be..O'Malley wasn't.. Warren on the other hand is moving up.. she sells it better than Martin did
I am a the person who makes the phone calls and knocks on the doors.. and donates old furniture to the campaign headquarters... You have a national voice Chris H. and you are going to have to pull all that angst in and try your best not to show favoritism.. taint easy.. but you have to do it..

(108,990 posts)The commentators you're complaining about probably witnessed many primaries in the past where the eventual winner was barely blip in the polls at this point.
Jeb Bush was beating the socks off other Republicans at this point in 2015. Name recognition was the biggest factor, as it is now with Biden and Sanders.

(25,473 posts)Sanders and Biden would essentially be tied.
Name recognition may be a reason why some of the other candidates can't gain any traction. It is not, however, why Biden is lapping the entire field, including the 100% name-recognition Sanders and the very-well-known Warren.

The fact that it's name recognition is shown by the fact that for each of the two men, their voters' second choice is the other well-known man -- despite them being so far apart on policies, and demeanor.

(25,473 posts)The main difference in the polls is that fewer people have formed an opinion one way or another re: Warren. She's not far behind Biden and Sanders in name recognition at all, which is really no surprise. Not sure why you seem to think she's a relative unknown outside of DU.

(5,275 posts)Biden has the plus of being around for a long time so a good part of this lead is name recognition and familiarity. Still a long way out, things can change rapidly.
Right now any of them are a quantum improvement over the Crude Rude not so bright Crook now there.
