(2,701 posts)Only way he will be able to choose the running mate that you reference.
Also, note that Joe did not refer to his winning the nomination. He simply stated (paraphrasing) that should Trump be defeated then the Repubs will play nice. Why does everyone automatically attack him as though he is declaring himself the winner?
I sense a lot of panic going on...
Those darn polls...

(8,144 posts)make. And, as with progressives, may be well-intentioned. He might believe it. Voters can decide if they do, but I dont think most Americans are holding their breaths.
At the same time, Biden has a better chance than most to get any bipartisan legislation accomplished. This will probably be on a few issues and mean more compromise than wed all like.
I dont think Trumps party, as it stands now, will like any Dem becoming president.
But your post headline is the usual Biden-baiting. Its the guess what Joe just did or said today or three decades ago.
If he wins the presidency, you can be among the first to say hows that epiphany thingy workin for ya Joe?
Or could be a good snicker line at the debates.
See Joe just isnt being honest with voters...

(3,259 posts)There is no one path to victory outside of the ballot box. Time will tell. I personally love how he is campaigning. Things like this will help him a lot. No one thinks he is playing nice with Trump.

(146,329 posts)Both he and Bernie Sanders have 100% name recognition among voters.
Elizabeth Warren also has enviable name recognition numbers.
The rest of the pack have lower numbers.
But, name recognition is not what distinguishes Biden from everyone else. It is far more than that. He also enjoys trust and approval from higher numbers than the rest. That comes, primarily, from his 8 years as Barack Obama's VP.
He also went after Donald Trump hard in his initial campaign announcement. That, by itself, earned him a lot of support, because Democrats are deathly sick of Trump and want him gone. He is the only candidate to have made Trump the main issue. In that, he made the best decision he could possibly have made, and took the lead in going after Trump.
It's not just his name recognition. Nope.

(146,329 posts)So, you're suggesting that he needs to get angry or something, instead of projecting a stable, positive demeanor?
Really?
He is angry. He's angry at Donald J. Trump. His launch speech was all about that anger. Do you think he should stop doing that, too?
Makes no sense at all, really, unless you'd like to see him dropping in the polls instead of going up.
