BETO O'ROURKE'S BARBER "PREZ CANDIDATE & I GO WAYYYY BACK ... He's a Great Tipper!!!"

Beto O'Rourke is one loyal son of a gun ... and a great tipper according to his barber who says they go back almost a decade. Beto's barber, Manuel Corral, tells TMZ ... he's been cutting Beto's hair for 7 years at his joint Chema's Barber Shop in El Paso, Texas. Manuel, who doesn't speak English, says Beto's haircut costs a modest $12 but Beto leaves a $25 tip every time.

Beto pulled up to Chema's earlier this week and livestreamed his haircut after spending several days on the campaign trail.

Back in January, he livestreamed going to the dentist. At the time, he hadn't announced his candidacy yet and this haircut episode comes on the heels of a media blitz as he tries to inject life back into a campaign that's lost major steam as of late.

Manuel says he stands firmly behind Beto, whose kids also get their haircuts at Chema's. When Beto shows up once a month, they converse in Spanish and talk U.S. and Mexican politics. Should Beto land in the White House ... Manuel says he's down to make the trek to D.C. and continue cutting his hair.

1. Curious how someone can be in another country for at least seven years, and yet not speak English.

I’ve lived in other countries, and I always make some effort to learn the language.

There are whole communitues where people have been here many years and do not speak English.

“Did you know that many DMVs offer the the DMV written test in multiple languages.
The California DMV, for exam, lets you take the test if 32 different languages!
Massachusetts lets you take it in 25; even Kentucky supports up to 23 languages for the test.”

English. I just don’t understand why anyone would not want to learn the language of their adopted country.

It’s certainly their prerogative, but I love languages. It’s just curious to me.

4. Thousands of Native Americans have been here long before your family and don't speak English

Drive through the Southwest United States sometime and there are radio stations that broadcast only in Navajo or other Native languages because that is the only language some of their people speak.

I’m first generation. Parents came over from England in the 50s.

Yes, I can understand the native peoples holding onto their languages. One hopes they always do. What a shame if they were to die out with the elders.

thanks for posting. It's nice that even though you don't seem to be a Beto supporter, you still posted a positive story about him. It is nice to see since lately it seems as if media and social media have been trying to ratchet up dissension between various supporter groups.
