NEW 6/12 Economist/YouGov poll: Biden 26%, Warren 16%, Sanders 12%

Biden's down 1 point from their last poll, Warren is up 5, and Sanders is down 4.

Tweet from the Economist's data journalist, thread starting here:

NEW 2020 Dem. poll from The Economist/YouGov: Warren pulls ahead of Sanders & into 2nd place (w/in margin of error). This wk & change vs last wk:

Biden: 26% (-1)
Warren: 16 (+5)
Sanders: 12 (-4)
Buttigieg: 8 (-1)
Harris: 6 (-1)
O'Rourke: 3 (+1)

Typical caveat re: watch the avgs

Cory Booker was at 2% in this poll.

All the other candidates were 1% or less.

Poll details here:

Btw, this poll also has a lot of questions about opinions of Pete Buttigieg (the poll asks more questions about specific candidates each week).
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

And if all Democrats voted for Democrats instead of Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont), it would be Warren and Biden, nip and tuck.

She is eating into Sanders support and positioning herself as an alternative to Biden/Bernie. More progressive than Joe but not dogmatic like Bernie. If she has a good debate she can then eat into Biden's support as the "electable" one.

Question 23 -- Are there any presidential candidates that you would be disappointed if they became the Democratic nominee? -- has an interesting stat that is favorable for the Democratic Party. Forty-one percent said that they "will not be disappointed if any of the candidates become the nominee."

She gets 80% of her uptick at Sanders' expense. Biden remains virtually untouched.

It means she's getting more support and approaching Biden's level of support, regardless of from where the support is coming or at the expense of someone else.
