The only way things change that much is to win the senate. We need it almost more than President.

The only thing I have against Warren is Al Franken. It’s a deal breaker with her for me. I think she’s a great Senator from my home state. I think she’s more important to me personally as a Senator.

Massachusetts has a Republican governor right now and if she leaves the senate, she will be replaced by an R until a special election can be held.

Congress makes the laws, the house controls the budget, and the senate has huge powers over the judiciary. But very good as far as it goes.

Only the Senate can.

Everyone knows all about McConnell. He's been around for years, a lot longer than Warren's been around.

It's politicking to say "no longer will there be special rules for them!" It doesn't mean anything. We don't set their rules. They do. All we can do is set our own rules.

so it better only take 51 to rescind them, even if that means getting rid of the filibuster.

Warren is one of three candidates I think can create the excitement needed to flip the Senate.

Well said, Sen. Warren. I just wish that your colleagues from Florida had half a spine between the two of them! Truly (and sadly), Rubio and Scott epitomize her point.

That said (written?), although I wholeheartedly agree with and support this goal, “them’s fightin’ words” for the RepubliCONs’ donor base: the Koch brothers, the Mercers, the DeVoses, Putin and his oligarchs, and — of course — the nickel-and-dime MAGATs, are responding to this well-stated goal by opening their checkbooks (or maxing our one credit card or another) to keep the dual standard in place.

We need to be just as robust in raising funds for our candidates. Or more so! Not to mention vigilance about actively opposing gerrymandering and other forms of voter suppression. This means writing sizable checks regularly, and rolling up our sleeves (and pants-legs, in rain-drenched precincts). Knocking on doors and staying resolute when said doors are slammed in our faces.

Too much is at stake here. And around the world.

It has to do with belief in democracy. What's left of the GOP believes in authoritarian rule by them and not in Democracy.

Election rigging,
Criminal cover-ups,
Greater allegiance to foreign dictators than American Democrats, Powerful party propaganda machine
Distrust of American institutions
Abuse of power
A radical willingness to Burn it all down

I'm not sure how to counter that without falling prey to embracing our own version of authoritarian techniques in response.

If we try to out hate, out cheat, out mean and out lie the GOP... We will lose and we will accelerate the end of democracy

Catch 22. So what's the answer?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
