Julian Castro challenges Donald Trump, Fox News in Tempe town hall

Presidential candidate Julian Castro aimed for a national breakout Thursday during a televised Fox News town hall in Tempe in which he hammered President Donald Trump while ignoring his many Democratic rivals.

The town hall, taped against the backdrop of Tempe Town Lake and before an audience of Republicans and Democrats, may not have provided the big moment sought by Castro, who served as secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Barack Obama and is a former mayor of San Antonio.

But Castro took on Trump and repeatedly rebuffed the hosts’ attempts to have him talk about his Democratic rivals.

Early on, Castro attacked Trump for comments indicating Trump would accept opposition research on a political opponent from a foreign government. He said such a comment is “unprecedented.”

Also, they don't want their viewers to hear anything bad about the Fascist in Chief so Castro trashing him in this town hall is the best result we could hope for here.
