Democratic Primaries

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren has released not one, but three climate change plans as part of her campaign for president. So far.
Since April, she has outlined an agenda to counter growing greenhouse gas emissions and rising average temperatures through policies for public lands, the military, and US manufacturing. And more are in the works, according to her campaign.
Her piecemeal approach is distinct from the other Democratic candidates whove released climate proposals as a comprehensive bundle. Chief among them is Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, who has made climate change the raison dêtre for his run
.
Warren isnt making climate change the centerpiece of her agenda, nor placing it in an environmental silo. Instead, she is using different parts of her agenda to address the climate crisis. She is making the policy case that climate change is a national security concern, an economic threat and opportunity, and the consequence of a violation of public trust.
Thats because Warren doesnt see climate change itself as the central problem; rather, the problem is money in politics. The reason the United States is where it is on climate is corruption, Chris Hayden, a spokesperson for the Warren campaign, told Vox. We need to rein in the economic and political power of Big Oil to get serious about addressing climate change which is why the first thing Elizabeth would do as President is pass her anti-corruption bill which would end lobbying as we know it.

(868 posts)For someone as bright as Elizabeth Warren to suggest such a thing, is so outrageous!
How dumb is she to think we are all as equally dumb as she pretends?
ALL. A-L-L POLITICS PERIOD ARE CORRUPT.
To suggest differently is just an attempt to hide the depth and participants of the corruption.
Most politicians call in "plausible deniability" while others refer to it as "self preservation".
Yet, corruption or as politicians call it "influence", is the very glue that holds all of this charade
called civilization together. Always has, from time immemorial until the greed and avarice
destroys all the good that has been accomplished.
Sadly though, Warren, nor any politician, cannot be so bold as to name names. To do so exposes
these oh so brave politicians as hypocrites trying to justify their own complicity along the way.

The amount of arctic ice and its reflectivity is a primary factor in keeping the planet cool.
But, who needs that ice? After all, we have new places to drill and new cross-world shipping lanes.
