agree with much of it--sorry. It is oh so much "WU"...

Here's a taste:
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/marianne-williamson-2020-democratic-debate_n_5d15994fe4b03d61163931ce

Stationed at the far end of the stage, Williamson, an author and activist, didn’t make a peep for the first 15 minutes as everyone else climbed over each other to get on camera. When she was finally asked about her plan for lowering the cost of prescription drugs, her answer was... unexpected.

“I’ll tell you one thing, it’s really nice if we’ve got all these plans,” Williamson began, speaking in her unusual Mid-Atlantic accent. “But if you think we’re going to beat Donald Trump by just having all these plans, you’ve got another think coming. Because he didn’t win by saying he had a plan. He won by simply saying, ‘Make America great again.’”

What? Having actual policy ideas matters less than #MAGA?

“We’ve got to get deeper than just these superficial fixes,” she continued, referring to Democrats’ fleshed-out policies on immigration, health care, education, student loans and whatever else you can think of.

The moderators moved on. They asked the panel what would be your priority issue as president? Gun violence, said Rep. Eric Swalwell (Calif.). Climate change, said Sen. Michael Bennet (Colo.). A family bill of rights, said Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.).

“My first call is to the prime minister of New Zealand, who said that her goal is to make New Zealand the place where it’s the best place in the world for a child to grow up,” said Williamson. “I would tell her, ’Girlfriend, you are so wrong!”

Uh. What about the first international relationship you’d like to reset as president?

“One of my first phone calls would be to call the European leaders and say, ‘We’re baaaack!’” said Williamson.

It’s not that Williamson didn’t make any substantive points as the two hours rolled on. She accused the Trump administration of child abuse for ripping migrant kids from their parents at the border and loading them into unsanitary detention facilities. Trump is attacking “America’s moral core” with his immigration policies, she said. “We open our hearts to the stranger.”

And it’s not that emailing reporters a video of yourself dancing to “Runaround Sue” with a guy in a cowboy hat and urging them to “JUST DANCE,” hours before going on national television as a presidential candidate, is completely off the wall. Neither is emailing reporters to recommend that they de-stress from the debates not by drinking vodka but by doing yoga poses.

“Instead of downing a shot, do a downward dog,” reads the campaign email. “Every time someone talks about the green new deal, strike an eagle pose.” (Eagle pose looks hard!)

And her anti-vax stances, including accusing CDC Scientists of being in the pocket of Big Pharma is so uninformed and conspiracy-driven, she does deserve some of it.

She's "quirky" and while I like "quirky" and "eccentric", it is not a trait that is particularly useful to lead the "free world"--especially after the damage Trump has wrought.

Is Marianne Williamson a Fringe Candidate? Or a Likely One?

After Donald Trump, what should a president be, anyway?

Marianne Williamson is a major-minor candidate for president, or a minor-major candidate for president. She believes that America is suffering from a spiritual and moral rot. She believes that the rot can only be healed if an empathetic and loving leader, equally versed in American history and culture, takes the helm.

“A person who has no conscience, a person who has no remorse, is a sociopath. And an economic system that displays no conscience and no remorse, for whom making your own short-term profit, a justifiable bottom line, no matter who or what gets hurt, is a sociopathic economic system,” Ms. Williamson said earlier this year on the campaign trail, in a meeting with Iowa Safe Schools, a nonprofit that focuses on L.G.B.T.Q. student issues.
You don’t just need someone to go to Washington who understands how the mechanics of Washington works. You need someone to go to Washington who understands how the mind of a sociopath works.”

When she arrived at the debates this week, appearing onstage with nine other candidates, including Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris and Pete Buttigieg, she aroused a strong and emotional response, provoking some combination of ire, confusion, admiration and hilarity.

Fri Jun 28, 2019, 04:21 PM
Jun 2019
She admitted her comment that vaccine mandates were "Orwellian and...." was wrong, but then goes on to conflate every single scientist at CDC, NIH and on all the many advisory committees as being in the pocket of big Pharma. Saying we need to "convene special expert panels" to review, something CDC has done for many many decades and all of the members of these EXPERT blue-ribbon panels are REQUIRED to document any and ALL funding conflicts.

My feelings for that woman will not be specified for fear some rare "fan" will alert on me, but NO NO NO NO NO! This is what happens when some "out-of-touch" spiritualist who thinks they know everything launches a vanity run for President.

That her comments will feed more ignorance and put more children at risk should disqualify her. DONE.

I'm just trying to put a silver lining on it. She made the cut and that's life. I do think my assessment is accurate. A group notorious for not voting got to see our candidates last night. A lot of that is due to her presence. She also regularly tells her colleagues it's time for them to step up and take part in the process. That they are abdicating their responsibilities, as a whole. Again, I'm doing some silver lining searching here.

unless you want to get elected. Barack Obama exuded love on many issues, but he needed policy. No matter how much love Marianne Williamson has to share with the world, her name will not appear on a presidential ballot.

Besides, we all know Hillary won the popular vote and Russian interference tripped her up. She did have other issues beyond policy though. Many on the right and centrists despised her and many Bernie supporters refused to vote for her.

as a motivational thing to build confidence in a little girl before a spelling bee

It's an excerpt from a poem from her book.

Here's more context if you're interested. https://www.personalgrowthcourses.net/stories/williamson.ourdeepestfear.invitation

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness
That most frightens us.

We ask ourselves
Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small
Does not serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine,
As children do.
We were born to make manifest
The glory of God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us;
It's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we're liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.
