If I was in charge: The next debate changes.

The one in July will be on CNN.
I hope they learned that 5 moderators is too much.
I would only go with two.
Either John King/Dana Bash (formerly married) because of their political experience or Don Lemon/Erin Burnett because neither takes shit from people who won’t STFU.
They wouldn’t be afraid to turn mics off when everyone starts talking over each other.
* Please CNN, no Wolf and no Anderson. They are too weak to control a two year old.

I want to see Montana Governor Steve Bullock and Rep Seth Moulton on stage.
Those that I’m already over and hope don’t show up: Swalwell, both Colorado guys, DeBlasio, Delaney, Gabbard, Gillibrand, Ryan.
Marianne can hang around one more time for comic relief, read astrological charts, & spread love.

I would like to see it stated off the top that the two hours would be divided into specific topic segments such as climate change, immigration, etc. Mods should state that when candidates go off topic to change the subject, read talking points, or attack someone that their mics could be cut off.

This definitely won’t happen, but I wish they’d do it without an audience.
The bursts of applause takes up precious time and encourages the candidates to go for planned applause lines or gotcha moments.

Looking forward to the July debates.
Go Dems! Even our worst candidate is incredibly smarter and better in every way than DT.

**Oh, and one more thing. In the post debate analysis, I would love to see a focus group of undecideds give their reactions especially people in the 4 early caucus/primary states.

Both are consultants and not full time CNN employees though , so they prob couldn’t do it.
Maybe Allison Camerotta from the morning show?

Moderator asks the question, then identifies who gets to answer and THEN activates their mic for the allotted time. As SOON as time expires, their mic shuts off. No rambling answers. No extensions. Force the candidates to be succinct and answer the question. If they attempt a lame pivot answer, cut them off and leave the camera on their face.

Within 20 minutes of that, order would be restored and any candidate worth voting for will realize the rules matter, the "game" of the "debate stage shout over" is finished and we might just see something worth watching.

Certainly would help Uncle Joe in not having to self moderate his own time.

I can't watch debates because they exist for ratings. We have to provide federal funding to candidates for office and limit the length of campaigns. The way some moderators are so weak isn't by chance. They do want drama and conflict because EVERY SINGLE F*CKING THING AMERICANS DO HAS TO BE BOUGHT OR SOLD... DU is better than coffee to get me going in the morning.

That's why they made such feeble attempts to curtail the audience. Its much more about the entertainment value than actually educating the public.

As I recall, there was a different tone to the debates when they were conducted by the League of Women Voters.

primary today, I would vote for:
