I suppose she felt she had to take Biden down because he's the front runner.

But I can't vote for someone who would badmouth another dem candidate.

There is just no excuse.

...by watching the debates for any sign that I should be switching to another candidate. It took a few hours of thought afterwards but I realized I was still very happy with Buttigieg (and fired off another small donation).

The even better news is that I found I would be very happy to sincerely support quite a few of the other candidates if need be in the General election. I really didn't want to have to vote Dem without feeling good about the actual candidate I will be voting for.

Ultimately, it came down to one thing: I'm afraid Pete doesn't show enough passion. He inspires the brain, but I'm not sure he sufficiently inspires the heart. The ticket for I'm hoping for at the moment is Warren/Buttigieg. And I have to say that I'd really like to see both the Warren-Trump debate and the Pete-Pence debate, I think those are both particularly good matchups. I think Warren would viscerally stand up to Trump's bombast better than Pete's more intellectual approach, while Pete would clobber Pence's religious righteousness.

Always have. In fact I remember laughing at myself because, before Pete came along, I was sooo torn between wanting her to run for president and wanting her to stay right where she is as one of the most effective and progressive and STRONG voices in the Senate.

I can see what you mean about Pete's level-headedness lacking the theatrical passion that could entrance so many Americans but I see the primaries as a shake down not only for a winnable candidate but a good one too. And between you and me (ha!) Warren looked just a little tired on the night of the debates. I'm 14 years younger than her and couldn't dream of sustaining the energy a campaign and presidency would require. I know, our older candidates offer us wisdom and experience, but Pete offers us wisdom, experience, and the energy of youth too. A rare combination.

All that said, I will be thrilled to cast my vote for Warren if it comes to that!

I have very very mixed feelings about Harris. I respect her energy and ability to strategize, but her attacks seemed to be a little disingenuous and I wonder if if she is more just out for herself than to help America.

I don't like Democrats attacking Democrats, especially over difficult, divisive, and controversial issues that happened before I was born. And are not really that relevant today.

I hope Biden prepares better and realized some of the Democratic candidates are not really his friends and they might just be more out for themselves, than anything else.

The debates actually made me think a bit better of her... I still think she's a grandstander, and I'm not sure that was a fair attack on Biden, but all in all, I think she presented herself well, with the sense of authority needed to be seen as "presidential" and to go toe-to-toe with Trump.

As for dems attacking other dems... The most useful thing about that is seeing how the one being attacked handles it, because whatever it is, they will get worse from Trump. And it's better to know that now.

If he has evolved, then great. Many good people have evolved on a variety of issues.

But he does need to defend his positions and votes on a couple of things. Specifically, to me, he needs to answer for why he was one of four Dem senators who supported the 2005 bankruptcy laws, and opposed amendments that would make things easier for debtors.

And, I'm old enough not to have forgotten Biden's treatment of Anita Hill.

I'm not saying I won't support him if he's the one who gets the nod, but he is not my first choice by a long shot.

I got the same feeling about Harris' possible motivations. I still feel strongly that Buttigieg's youth is just enough for him to still be idealist in his desire to actually put the nation before his own ambitions.

However, Harris is one of the candidates I will still be honestly very happy to support if it comes to that!

Followed closely behind is Harris/Pete Harris knocked it out of the ballpark for a debate. She demonstrated she could both clean Trump's clock in a debate and handle the Presidential stage. Her time at the top of the ticket will come, but for now this country and world needs someone like Biden who can restore saneness and world-wide relationships back to America. Nothing can change my mind on this. (Well, I guess if Biden shot someone on 5th avenue, then maybe)
