Biden proves he can beat Trump by brushing off Harris' attacks 😎🎨

To the editor: In attacking former Vice President Joe Biden for his long-ago statements that supposedly raise doubts about his support for civil rights, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) may have done him a favor.

It is very early in a long, drawn-out presidential campaign. Headline stories are transitory, quickly replaced by the latest gaffe or revelation. News of President Trump’s serial deceits are here and gone every day, reflecting this reality

Biden will survive this temporary setback and continue to demonstrate the qualities and experience that make him the best Democratic candidate to replace Trump.

To the editor: For Harris to grandstand against Biden in the Democratic presidential debate because of what he did or didn’t do decades ago is one thing.

But for the nation’s media to pick up on it and make it seem like a defeating blow to Biden’s campaign is just another example of how lazy and divisive they can be. Biden obviously held off blasting Harris for a variety of reasons, most notably because he probably did not want to attack his fellow Democrats.

Shame on Harris as well as the news media. Save your spite for Trump and the Republicans.

Everyone should save their attacks on Trump and The Republicans...🎨😎 after all this election is to get rid of Trump...and GOP

retort to her grandstanding. He did not once raise his voice and he did not choose to respond to her attack by treating her the same way. That would have been giving MSM more fodder and for Harris to have the upper hand.

If Trump had made a similar attack, Biden would have eviscerated him.

Democrats should not take advantage of Biden being a nice guy like Sen. Harris did.

Even Bernie didn't attack Secretary Clinton in the first debate like that -- back when Bernie was a good candidate. He actually defended her from the email attack.

Even where commentators have mentioned that he caught her out on a half-truth -- he pointed out that her busing program was not court-ordered or federally mandated, but voluntary -- they mutter something about a garbled answer. But he answered the attacks fully and clearly and exposed the malarkey. The commentariat is just flakking for whoever fits their stupid RW narrative.

p.s. if anyone missed it you can watch the Biden-Harris exchange and read the transcript here:

If there is desperation, you will find it in other campaigns...Dirty tricks are seldom rewarded. And busing as Sen. Harris is learning is not a popular issue.

still very early days. Also it is very disingenuous to frame Harris as a dirty trickster. It is called debate prep. Biden should try it to a much higher degree than he apparently is atm. No candidate will get a pass through, not Joe, not Liz, not Harris, not Pete, not Bernie, etc. etc.
