(191 posts)I think Kamala shot herself in the foot. I don't see Joe picking her for VP. There's are MANY African American and Latinas out there in elective office that would make a great running mate for Joe.

Also, the Mayor of Atlanta, Georgia, Keisha Lance Bottoms has endorsed Biden..
Biden lands 2020 endorsement from Atlanta Mayor Bottoms
Bottoms added that Biden's work on civil rights issues and his progressive resume demonstrate his commitment and that the remarks were blown out of proportion.
"My position is, if his explanation was good enough for John Lewis, then it's good enough for me," Bottoms added, referring to the Georgia congressman and civil rights icon who was among Biden's defenders after the controversy.

(37,648 posts)What he didn't say, that his strategists would insist on, besides someone he trusts and can give authority to because s/he is on the same page as Biden, is that he VP has to bring something to help the ticket win. Whether it's a big campaign donor purse, or helping win an area of the U S that Biden doesn't already have, or a purple state that the VP could bring in.
He mentioned lots of people across the nation that would be good, which may mean he's looking (or would look) at people other than the current candidates.
Sounds like he'd prefer a moderate like himself, with experience (so he could entrust big decisions to), who is not from the NE or Rust Belt (he's got those areas already).
Hmmmm. I think Stacey Abrams is one person who might fit the bill.

I love Stacey Abrams ,but I still think Kamela as VP after a hard fought primary would be a super winner.
