Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumIs it just me or does it seem more cordial between folks who have different candidates this cycle?
I see a lot of people displaying one candidate but also posting nice stuff about other candidates who are not their first choice. I see a bit of arguing which is to be expected but it was sometimes brutal in the past. Seems very positive around here and I am enjoying seeing us mostly come together. Or maybe I am missing all the knock down drag out fights somehow?

(9,688 posts)People seem more open to alternatives, which may have everything to do with the fact that there are so many alternatives. In addition to (or because of?) the large number of candidates/alternatives, there is also a high proportion of DUers who are still undecided (or have changed their minds and may change them again). All of this seems to contribute to more openness or at least a more diffuse target for anger.

(3,115 posts)Democrats have to wash this wave of Repuke shit out of government once and for all. To do that, we need to be civil to each other.
History has always, always shown that Democrats are interested in social justice. They're the ones who've made it better for all people, grown the middle class and improved the economy. Pukes have always been interested in grabbing what they can get, even if it involves killing people and starting wars. And they have. And economic disasters? It's always been the Pukes.
So any Democrat on the ballot is a breath of fresh air. Our unity is a happy thing. I've already seen on news networks even MSNBC that we're engaging in a circular firing squad. Fuck that. This is the fight of our lives. And it's against the fucking Turtle and the rest of the Repuke party, whose figurehead just happens to be that bloated piece of shit stinking up the White House right now.

(12,265 posts)Minority of one candidates supporters to divide us this time. We cannot afford it. No matter who I support in the primary, I will support our nominee fully! Now I pray it is not Mr. Sanders, but if it is, I will hold my nose and work for him.
There is so much at stake this time, we cannot get buried in infighting this time.

(15,805 posts)The vociferous fanclubs are more of a hindrance than the actual candidates. These contentious supporters are content to sing the high praises of their choice, and it isn't enough to smear opponents, but they turn on anyone who isntbin their camp.
Deservedly or not, these more aggressive activists have narrowed my list considerably simply because of their acrimonious affiliations with the candidates.
