Political Wire Straw Poll Results

July 17, 2019 at 8:30 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

This poll was only open to Political Wire members.

Our July straw poll finds 41% of Political Wire members think that Joe Biden will win the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, followed by Kamala Harris at 30% and Elizabeth Warren at 25%.

No other candidate gets more than 2%.

However, when it comes to personal preferences for who Political Wire members want to win, the race is much different. Warren leads with 35%, followed by Harris at 24%, Biden at 14% and Buttigieg at 13% and Amy Klobuchar at 3%.

No other candidate gets more than 2%.

Finally, I added a ranked choice option which continues to be very popular with Political Wire members.

Using a weighted average of their votes, Harris was the most preferred candidate overall, with Warren very close behind, followed by Buttigieg and Biden.

More than 2,000 readers took the survey.
