@KamalaHarris now at #NAACPConvention huge cheer. Asks what do we do with moment that we have. And what we do is to FIGHT for who we are and the NAACP KNOWS this fight. She comes from a family of fighters.

“This is a moment in time where we must fight for the best of who we are, and fight we will,” Sen. Kamala Harris says at NAACP forum. The fight for equality, fairness and justices “is not a new fight for us.”

"We stand on broad shoulders: Thurgood Marshall, Charles Hamilton Houston and Constance Baker Motley," noted @KamalaHarris during the NAACP's Presidential Forum in Detroit. @NAACP

"We have a predator living in the White House. And it is the nature of predators to prey on those they perceive to be vulnerable, to prey on those they perceive to be weak." - @KamalaHarris #NAACPConvention

Some of the younger folks here might not know it.
James Brown had a song, “ Say it loud, I’m black and I’m proud,” in the early/mid 60s. I remember at the time hearing that it was the first “black pride” song ever to be played on regular rock and roll radio stations ( as opposed to stations that catered just to black audiences ).

My dad had a James Brown / oldies phase which allowed me to learn most of his songs.

...I was pretty young and naive, and I imagined he was saying, 'I'm black and I'm brown'. I thought to myself, Yeah, that's me. Black and brown.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
