Here's Beto O'Rourke's plan to eliminate racial inequality in the education system

WASHINGTON — Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke wants to eliminate racial inequality in the education system through a proposed $500 billion fund that aims to shrink funding gaps.

O’Rourke on Wednesday announced his plan, which also calls for measures to increase the diversity of educators, end racial disciplinary disparities and offer complete relief of student loan debt for teachers, CBS reported. The campaign cited a February EdBuild study that found a funding gap of $23 billion between majority white and majority nonwhite districts.

"Sixty-five years after Brown v. Board of Education, and America's schools still remain segregated," O'Rourke said in a statement to CBS.

Emerging from his narrow loss to Sen. Ted Cruz in the 2018 Senate race, O’Rourke was viewed as a rising star and a prominent challenger for the presidential nomination, raising $6.1 million within 24 hours of announcing his campaign.

Schools shouldn't be funded only by property taxes, a funding gap filler is a good answer.

If only he would also propose funding free school breakfast and lunches for elementary kids.
