he and you will have no problem if Booker attacks later right?

By the way, I have no problem with Biden attacking. Attacking is what happens in a contested primary, to expect otherwise is silly.

What I find a little problematic is the belief that there can be no attacks (especially against Biden).

primary today, I would vote for:

You think if someone else were the frontrunner right now.. so many wouldn't have the long knives out against them?

ETA.. Booker started this crap.. Biden has every right to check out his record.. see if he lives in a Glass House.

Furthermore on my count he has made a number of veiled digs at Biden without naming him (and had a dig at Sanders last week)...it just seems his campaign is to be a spoiler from within.

"Biden says he was surprised by Harris attack at Democrats' debate

Former US vice president Joe Biden said in an interview broadcast on Friday that he had not expected Senator Kamala Harris to confront him on racial issues during their 2020 Democratic presidential candidate debate."

https://news.yahoo.com/biden-says-surprised-harris-attack-democrats-debate-190211714.html

The 1994 Crime Bill is definitely going to be a big issue in the July 31st debate.
Better to get this issue out of the way earlier than later.

We'll see how much traction it gets in the polls afterwards.

"I felt disrespected" kept popping up in the press in relation to the busing issue/segregationist conversation the two men presumably had after the first debate. I knew then Booker was working himself up to a debate 2 strategy after Harris spiked in the polls. Booker doesn't have anything to lose with his numbers parked in the basement. And now the comments on Joe's criminal justice reform proposal have turned negative. So-o-o be prepared for incoming!!

What Biden's campaign has done is send a preemptive parcel Booker's way, let him deal with the fallout of his own history and also acknowledge that not punching down does not mean no punching back when it comes to defending a record. Biden has admitted he was surprised by Kamala Harris' ambush. I don't think we'll see a repeat of that on the second round.
