Related: About this forumWhen I look at Beto O'Rourke... I see Bobby Kennedy..
I was in grade school when John Kennedy was assassinated.. but a young adult with Bobby Kennedy... and I see the same energy, and hope.. I know why people like him.. that is something you cannot fake.. you either have it or you do not.. and Beto has it.. just an observation

I woke up to see an e-mail from Beto. I got to talk to Beto at the National Convention just briefly. In early 2017, Beto spoke to a small group at a tavern in my county. My son and I got to see Beto up close and he is amazing. I made a couple of rallies and heard him at the state convention. Beto is perhaps the best retail politician that I have seen since President Obama.
I like Beto a great deal and Beto could flip Texas which is a goal that I have been working towards for a very long time. I am still torn between Beto, Biden and Harris but my main goal is anyone but sanders.

(12,448 posts)I like Biden, don't get me wrong, but I really think it's time for a new generation. But except for Tulsi and Bernie, I'd enthusiastically support, volunteer for, and of course vote for the Democratic nominee. I'm comfortable saying that because those two ain't gonna make it.

Beto reminds me of both of them, a bit more of Bobby, but he certainly brings back memories of my youth.

(50,278 posts)contender. No one will agree with me completely and I refuse to engage in purity tests when we have a dangerous moron in the White House to beat. It's just a lucky fluke of nature that he resembles RFK so much. In all honesty, this is the first twinge of excitement I've felt about the upcoming election. He's got the "Obama factor" going on.

(4,982 posts)Which is amazing...as he will sit still and listen to what Beto has to say. He was proud to have Beto signs in their front and back yards - they live in a deep red county on a rather middle class golf course.
My dad doesn't agree with him on policy, but trusts him and very likely would vote for him again. It's my opinion that Beto should be on the ticket with either Warren, Harris, or Biden. Need a person who can reach the moderate Republicans like my father.
Now, that said, I find Beto to be well left of center, but grounded in how to effect policy change.
