Why are you supporting your candidate?

For those people who have chosen. What made you decide on this person? Was it a particular issue that you care about? An interview or speech they gave? A specific plan they have?

Please only positive things about your candidate without saying something negative about another democrat.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

He's caring, kind, anti-war and pro fixing climate change. He can stand up to drumpf and give better than he'll get and he will take down WI, MI and PA from the R column and turn them back blue. He is smart and has a lot of understanding about how our goverment works and would be a great president, someone I'd be proud of. He's not perfect, but he's learned and become a better person. Even though he's old, he's not old in his mind and he keeps himself in shape so not worried about that. I think he and Kamala Harris would make the perfect ticket.

I also know this is just the start of a long process. My favorite has never gotten the nomination when there's been 3 or more people running, but there are many good candidates this time that I would be proud to vote for as president.

I won't make it overly complicated. I'm not big on issues. I hosted debate watching parties for 8 years in Las Vegas to get a feel for how swing voters think, the type of person they connect with and the type they reject as phony.

Beto or Klobuchar would fare great with that type. It reached the point I can identify it quickly. Beto was always obvious. Males receive more benefit of a doubt so I'll default to a male first. But Klobuchar dominated the Kavanaugh questioning to such extreme it made her an easy choice as next in line.

Of course if he does not choose to run, I will have to reevaluate the remaining candidates and use the same method in deciding who to support. It will more than likely be a long process.

He has made climate change the center of his campaign, an issue of dire importance to me. I am a young man with no children, but I do have three nephews, one of who is only 19 months old, and I fear for their future as well as mine. All other problems are secondary compared to climate change. Nothing else will matter if the Earth is uninhabitable for human beings to live on.

The current "president" is a disgusting old man who doesn't give a shit about the planet. Someone like Jay in the White House is desperately needed.

I want BS to lose, then I want 45 to lose. I see Beto as very capable of making both happen. Given the events of today, my belief is totally reinforced.

I have a rather different approach to Presidential candidates than many. See, I really don’t give a rats ass what their stated positions are. I don’t give a rats ass about the promises they make. I don’t give a rat ass on their voting record. I DO care a LOT that, when the bills get to their desk, if it’s Republican agenda, they will veto. If it’s Democratic Party agenda, they will sign it through. I care about positions and policies for the Representatives and Senators that I vote for since they are the ones who make the bills, vote on the bills, or not vote on the bills that makes policy happen.

Right now, it is my own belief that we don’t have a single candidate that, if elected would’t sign off on any bills the Democratic Party gets through Congress, and will veto any right wing bill the Republicons get through congress. So to me, all candidates meet the “policy” tests for me.

I also judge a candidate that has that presence to gather support, energize voters, and have a statseman (or stateswoman) presence. In this area we have a number of EXCELLENT candidates with Beto being in the mix of it.

The candidate I back must be able to select a great cabinet, and make great choices for appointments. I don’t think any of our candidates are particularly weak with this one.

She does indeed have grit. That counts for a lot with me.

She knows what it's like to confront and overcome challenges as a smart, serious woman of integrity -- from making it to Yale, to becoming Minnesota's first elected US senator, to accomplishing a substantial record of legislation.

She isn't flashy, and to some that may be a negative. To me, it's a big plus.

(PS -- I've also signed up in support of the Warren and Harris campaigns, but I'm rooting for Amy most at the moment.)
