No more drawing for spots on the stage.
Have these 6 people together on night one: Biden, Warren, Sanders, Harris, Pete, Beto.
Put the other 6 on the second night.

Why? Because realistically, (come on now, be real here) our nominee will come from group one.
Those are the people that the public really want to see on stage together.
And, because of their polling, fund raising, etc, they all deserve to be in the head group.
I know that means the second group will be called “the kids table”. That’s dumb but it is what it is.
They still have the opportunity for a breakout moment against the others polling 2-3%.

They may bring up points or have less to loose so make things interesting. Though 20 is just to distracting, we definatly need to loose 8 - 10 of them.

12 candidates on two nights is perfect.

The size of the field is greatly benefiting Biden. With a couple dozen candidates, a lot of people (if they're even paying any attention at this point) really can't distinguish between candidates. Name recognition is still the driving force at this juncture.

Booker and Castro, for instance, would likely benefit from there being a much smaller field. There are more than a dozen candidates who really ought to drop out, but boosting one's public profile tends to take precedence.

Goes out to republicans as well, not only dems. I do YouGov polls once a week.

This poll says something about Warren's likability, and it says something about the enthusiasm gap when it comes to Biden. There's a softness to Biden's support. Not everyone is convinced that an old white male is the key to defeating an old white male.

when asked of a restaurant menu ... is just as meaningless.

To give another example -- probably far more republicans "considered" Jeb Bush or Chris Christie -- but ended up with Trump who was "chosen" by more.

Actually Bill de Blasio had 30% respondents being 'disappointed' & Marianne Williamson at 28%, so Joe wasn't the 'most', but third, and plurality voting results.
Conversely, if 22% of respondents are disappointed in joe, 78% will either not be disappointed, happy, or have no opinion. As will 91% ditto for elizabeth.

Biden's spread is negative 4 or 5, Warren's spread is neg 15 or 16 - I think I'd be more disappointed with the latter results.
Among Independents Biden's spread is neg 10 (27 beat, 37 lose), Warren's spread neg 22 (20, 42)

Since these (not yours) include republicans & indies it's main value is comparatively amongst ourselves, dunno if republican sample size percentage might be off, et al, et cetera. This seems to be an outright 2020 election poll as well, the first one I've seen having trump defeating biden - or is something going over my head.
I wouldn't give any of the poll questions providing any great insight as to what will be, a couple months time it will become a shoulder shrug in the annals of campaign 2020, eh?

PS: I do like & admire Elizabeth Warren, almost all the other dem candidates should consider another avenue to devote their lives to for the next 12 months.

One is that they don't think the candidate would be a good nominee, whether because they don't think the candidate has a chance of winning the GE or because they don't think that candidate would be a good president.

The other one -- and the one that applies ONLY to the current front-runner -- is that the candidate is currently blocking that voter's favorite from becoming the nominee.

If Warren was the front-runner, her "disappointed if the nominee" number would be much higher.

Right now, supporters of every other candidate see Biden as an obstacle between their candidate and the nomination.
