(2,809 posts)Most certainly I'd have had a bit of a stuttering chuckle trying to get out the words "What... what is that??", an exclamation point of how utterly reprehensible, abhorrent and ridiculous that statement was:
It brings an aside note to my mind: In this case, it's clear Mr King is placating the worst tendencies of the misogynistic constituents of his base. However:
This sort of radical outburst from Trump, King and Fox Noise also seems a distraction technique, pulling the media pundits into focusing on some magnanamous gaffes rather than being cornered into a reasonable policymaking conversation. When they don't have a good answer, throw the whole conversation off track: I.G.: "fake news", eliciting the facepalmworthy "He shoots from the hip" admiration from the RWNJ's.
Kamala Harris is the best qualified candidate to put the conversation right back in order, just as in the courtroom. She will bring that very question with implied answer "What is that?, a distraction from the discourse" with her to any debate with the big orange confabulation artist, and return any such underhanded debate tactic right back to reality.

(49,992 posts)donations were split between both of them.
Anyway, good for Kamala spreading the word about JD (and hopefully raising some cash for him). He's a good guy.

(49,022 posts)Scholten, it looks from the image of the email posted as if the email link for donations gives half the money donated that way to Harris. Is that correct?
Editing to add that I'm asking because when Harris asked for donations for Stacey Abrams when Abrams was contesting the 2018 election, Harris posted her own link, instead of Abrams' ActBlue link, and Harris's own link split the donations between Harris and Abrams by default, though if people noticed the fine print they could change the setting to adjust how much if any would go to Harris.
I'm wondering, too, how standard it is for politicians asking supporters to donate to other politicians to take part of the donation for themselves. Maybe it is a very common practice and I just hadn't heard about it before.
Editing again to add that Tal Kopan, the SF Chronicle reporter who posted that fundraising email from the Harris campaign that split the Scholten donation with Harris, mentioned in her next tweet that Cory Booker has also sent out a fundraiising email for Scholten:

She didn't post an image of Booker's email, though.
I checked Twitter, couldn't find anyone else posting an image of that email from Booker, but did see a tweet from Booker, which links to an ActBlue page giving all the donations to Scholten.
