Sanders looks to reclaim leader status during two-day swing through N.H.

Bernie Sanders has a message for his supporters in New Hampshire.

“This time, we’re going to win it,” the independent senator from Vermont emphasized during a four-stop Tuesday-Wednesday campaign swing through the Lakes Region and the North Country.

New Hampshire put Sanders on the national map four years ago. His crushing defeat of Hillary Clinton in the February 2016 primary launched him into a marathon battle against the eventual nominee.

While the 2016 primary race was basically a two-person contest, the 2020 cycle is a whole new ball game. And thanks to a record-setting field of two-dozen Democratic candidates, many of whom are promoting the same progressive proposals that Sanders moved from the fringe to the mainstream of the Democratic Party four years ago, the senator’s facing plenty of competition in a state he owned four years ago.

He was getting trounced by POC. The writing was on the wall and easy to read.

The race was closer than the vote totals suggest, as ridiculous as that sounds. If some of those early primaries and caucuses were held later in the year the outcome may have been different.

Clinton received 30% more votes than Sanders and won Dems 2:1. She won the AA vote by more than 50 points, including 99% of Southern black-majority counties.

In any other context, that's a massive blowout. Only the media pretending it was a competitive race (for ratings) kept it from being reported as such.

Paraphrasing Yogi Berra, it was over way before it was over.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Everyone not living in a state of denial knew the race ended on Super Tuesday. That was Bernie's last chance to show whether or not he could get sufficient support from POC. The writing was on the wall before Super Tuesday. Super Tuesday sealed the deal.
