(1,857 posts)Here is his final paragraph:
"I've said before that I think conventional wisdom is simply wrong about the 2020 election. President Trump is in much worse shape than people realize. An incumbent President with what at least until the last few days of warning signs remains a strong economy who cant get to 40% against any of his probable challengers is in bad shape. Theres [sic] just no two ways about that. There may be limited utility in spreading that word. You want to run like youre behind. But running like youre behind can also turn into an enervating defeatism. So it is worth focusing on just how poor a position he seems to be in."

The election is in 15 days. And the electoral map just keeps looking grimmer and grimmer for Donald Trump.
We are making three changes to The Fix map this week, all favoring Hillary Clinton.

So stop believing all these happy poll numbers. The happier they seem, the more dangerous they are!

(584 posts)that every time a poll comes out with "good news" it scares me that we will become complacent.
I remember that election morning when I kept telling myself, "We are IN! No way to lose. He has to 'run the table' to win the EC. Impossible."
Well, whether the polls were accurate or not; whether trump is legitimate or not, he is the one opening the mail addressed to President.
Pretty poll numbers don't comfort me, they scare me. I wished they scared everybody here-- but they don't.
Claritie, what we need to focus on is making sure it doesn't happen again. Keep preaching that.
