Oh, Bernie

MSNBC 2016: Bernie Sanders a regular at high-dollar donor retreats

During his 10 years on the Senate, Bernie Sanders has been a regular presence at luxurious Democratic fundraising retreats, according to more than a half-dozen lobbyists, donors and former Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee staff members with whom he attended the events. Sanders most recently appeared at one last July, shortly after he announced his presidential run.

Millionaires get different treatment from Sanders these days.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's the distaste he shows for others who "show up" at those 'canape-filled' events that doesn't hold up considering his own past. Even if it isn't to ask for money directly.

NBC reported Sanders was "a regular presence at luxurious fundraising retreats," including in Martha's Vineyard. No attendees "said they heard him chastise Wall Street banks or pharmaceutical companies to the faces of the lobbyists representing those interests."

Why on earth would anyone think that the politician benefiting from the fundraising would pay to attend the fundraiser?

BS began accepting money through the Democratic Party fundraising apparatus in 1996. It continued through 2012.

However, because BS had no joint fundraising agreement with the DNC in February 2016, that big dollar donor event benefited BS, and BS alone.

As I stated in my original post, he raises money for other candidates at the DSCC's behest. The DSCC uses big-ticket events. Sanders played his part, as a sitting member of the Senate Democratic Caucus.

Unless he became POTUS, there would be no way for him to change decades of the DSCC's pro forma fundraising methodologies.

If there weren't CANAPES, then it doesn't count as corporate fundraising...because CANAPES.

Are we "nervous", yet?

Speaking of "establishment".. here's John Lewis being harassed by this person..

Kind of funny, but definitely counter-productive if the real goal is a unified effort to defeat Trump.
