Seems to be a ritual now that candidates release their first 24 or 48 hour hauls, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. Some use it to build a buzz, but O'Rourke didn't need that.

really wanted him to beat Cruz.

I haven’t donated to his Presidential campaign because he danced around his Medicare For All question and gave the phrase I hate “access to quality healthcare” and that’s a no deal for me.

So far I am donating to 3 candidates and Beto isn’t one I’m interested in. I wonder if his great fundraising results gave him a false sense of his support in a crowded Presidential race with lots of choices.

The primary is my way of participating in democracy and I will vote for the candidate I want to be President. I have 3 so far on my list and I will see how primaries go before mine which isn’t until much later. I will not support a candidate that the media pundits, who have been wrong in just about everything, tell me who can beat Trump. I have more faith in my own opinion.

Beto is far down on my list. Quite a few men and women ahead of him.

I’m assuming you are talking about Sanders in 2016 since many candidates havent put out their taxes for the 2020 race. I wish Sanders would. I don’t see how he cannot as the field narrows and as others do.

But it’s really nothing to do with this. Just because you don’t like Sanders, he doesn’t need to be discussed in every thread.

He is going to look really good and get a days publicity out of it when we get to see the FEC filings or when it leaks. I don’t see it looking all that bad unless compared to Sanders, but he has been campaigning for President personally and through multiple groups acting on his behalf for four years.

The MSM loves the story "Candidate collects $$$$ within first 24 hours of announcing run." However, this story paints politics as a filed of battle in which money is the weapon. I suspect that Beto has already collected a lot. And I suspect that he has enough sense not to get caught up in a dick slapping contest in which the candidates boast "I got this much money!" "So what. I got THIS much money!"
