Chelsea was invited to the event mourning the death of 49 men, women and children. She handled the attack with grace and with the hand motions to her chest, she showed she was the compassionate and caring woman she is. I am sad that anyone would attack a very pregnant woman that seems to be the target of the SUPPOSED sins of her father and mother.

IIRC, the shooter there (also a white man, almost always a white man, isn't it?) was a Senator Sanders supporter. So Chelsea Clinton had reason to fear for her safety, but she handled this attack with the same incredible grace she handles harassment everywhere. Reading her twitter responses to troll attacks from the right and the left is just humbling. I cannot imagine the fortitude she must have - and it is definitely something she inherited from her mother.

(yes, Chelsea is a public figure. you don't see the Bush daughters or Obama daughters adding their two cents on all things political) Make sure you let that Muslim woman know she's just a "Berniebro" and is being irrational.

I do know that Chelsea recently stuck her two cents into the Ilhan Omar debate. (which she has every right to) But when you put it out there, people will push back.

This wouldn't even be a story it is if it weren't for her wearing a Bernie 2020 T-shirt. The haters wet themselves the minute they saw that. That's the truly asinine aspect.

I can’t even with these people. I can only relate how I felt after the Pulse Nightclub shooting. Some now former friends made some really insensitive comments that had me seeing red - to the point where I went looking for one (he posted a bunch of dildo candles with the caption “too soon?”). I don’t think I have ever been that angry and despondent over something relating to my status as a gay man.

I don’t agree Chelsea is responsible but this does come in on the heels of a popular Muslim public figure being excoriated by our side for speaking her mind. Chelsea was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Again, I don’t agree with it but I didn’t see any threats or threats of violence. Chelsea is an adult.

These are scary times for all persecuted minorities. Muslims just have the added bonus of having the orange menace on their case.

Not escalating a situation where someone grieving is acting irrationally. Being calm and compassionate under unstable circumstances. You make a good point. People grieve in different ways and it can lead to irrational anger and immature outbursts while trying to fault everyone they can for their pain. They just fall to pieces and rage takes over. Others like Clinton stand tall and bring people together.

There's more on places like Daily Mail, but I refuse to link there and don't trust them, anyway.

Inquisitr is generally left-of-center.

"Chelsea Clinton was accused of stoking Islamophobia at a vigil at NYU for the victims of the terrorist attack in New Zealand which 49 Muslims were killed. A now-deleted video of the confrontation was uploaded to Twitter and in it you can see a woman speaking to Clinton in a raised voice. During the conversation, she appears to link the former first daughter’s reaction to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s recent comments about AIPAC’s influence on Congress to the rhetoric that motivated the attack’s alleged perpetrator, Brenton Tarrant.

“This is the result of a massacre, stoked by people like you and the words that you put out into the world,” she said. “And I want you to know that and I want you to feel that deep inside.”"

If Bernie Sanders is the candidate. Otherwise with anyone else it's all doubleplusgood. There was a train of thought somewhere here that Bernie should denounce her and insist she return her tee. Maybe find the woman who flipped you off and insist she give back the car to ...somebody?

That being said I understand the pain the woman feels after the horrific actions by someone who was egged on by the POTUS. Pain will cause people to lash out but that was not the time, the place or the person to go off on.

I also had my Bernie magnet removed from my car at a farmers market. We pulled in next to a Hillary sticker. When we got back that car was gone and so was our sticker. Not fallen off. Just gone. Not sayin’ it was the Hillary supporter but I probably should have twittered about it!

But let’s be real. Image matters. The hat Trump is fomenting isn’t simply directed at a group of whites. And it’s not just Trump. Both Trump and the Republicans use tactics that attempt to stoke the flames of others as well. This girls ignorance has manifested itself like this for reasons.

From what is seen in the video it was handled well by Chelsea.

58. A few more details...
Fri Mar 15, 2019, 10:41 PM
Mar 2019

The source, Inquisitr, is generally left-of-center, for those who aren't familiar with it. There's more info on places like Daily Mail, but I refuse to link there and don't trust them, anyway.

There were many people, Bernie folks and otherwise, who disagreed with the rush to condemnation of Rep. Omar. If you put your opinion out there, people might respond.

There are so many elements to this story that overshadow the shirt she was wearing but somehow that became the most important part of it for some. Interesting.

The thread is even worse in that it attributes the divide and conquer and kneecapping to Harris since the one posting the thread (claims to) support Harris.
