Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumAs a Democrat, you should act as if the eventual nominee will be a can of creamed corn.
That's not to throw rocks at any of the candidates we have, who stand head and shoulders above Donald Trump and, yes, a can of creamed corn. The point is, there are tons of things we Dems badly need to do that are independent of the personality and policies of any given nominee. You know, things like GOTV, help out with the ground game, support downballot D candidates, and never, ever, let the doings of Orange Douche become normalized.

Blind allegiance is what Putin expects of the GOP, why should we give that as well?
I'm asking about the basic notion of "blind loyalty", and not about who that loyalty is to.

(3,164 posts)I wonder which would be worse/better- Trump with us having both houses, or a Democratic President with the Rethugs still having the Senate.

(3,650 posts)And, I get why the Senate is important, but, for me, I'd rather Trump be ousted for one huge reason: every day he's in office is a day he can literally incinerate millions with a nuclear strike. Or, start a conventional war somewhere, if only (and likely) as a distraction.
There are many more reasons, but that's the one that leaps to mind.
