Elizabeth Warren: "Like the man who appointed him, Kavanaugh should be impeached."

Elizabeth Warren
@ewarren

Last year the Kavanaugh nomination was rammed through the Senate without a thorough examination of the allegations against him. Confirmation is not exoneration, and these newest revelations are disturbing. Like the man who appointed him, Kavanaugh should be impeached.

I'd love to see these sitting Senators put their heads together with their House colleagues (the House we control) and push through impeachment of Kavanaugh. Calling for something on twitter accomplishes little.

I hope all of our candidates come out for impeachment--of Kavanaugh AND Trump.

Hell, I wish there was a way to "annul" a presidency. Just undo everything Dump has done. But I guess there is no way to bring back the lives that he has caused to be lost. Ugh.

1). New President reverses / annuls Trump "executive orders" (no idea what the process is for that)

2). A Democratic President, House, & Senate passes new legislation that essentially rolls back or erases everything passed since Trump was elected (like the tax cuts for billionaires).

I'm sure it's not that simple, but that's what it looks like, right off the top of my head...

... Congress in the first place. That's how the Global Gag Order became a political football all these years: Congress refused to allow even a dime of US money to be spent overseas to even mention abortion or to refer patients on. So Democratic presidents rescind the part that says health workers can't even refer patients to other providers, and Republican presidents immediately put the gag back on.

That's not to say it would be easy to unwind all the consequences of Trump's many EOs, just that I don't think any of it has to pass through Congress.

Recovering from Trump will take a lifetime, I think. It's amazing how many Americans would be just fine with a fascist government, as long as they are clear that "the other" will be oppressed and that they can still keep their gunz in case the gubmint comes for them. And they vote.

...and I've seen far too many articles about Kentucky voters saying they will probably vote for McConnell out of habit.

Based on what I've seen, well in advance of 2020, and based on Kentucky voters' performance over time, I'd say the grand mother of ALL long shots is for McConnell to be GONE. The BEST we can look for, based on that, is a majority in the Senate so that he is no longer "Leader McConnell."

If we get that, hold the House, and put a Democrat in the Oval Office, we can restore sanity.

If McConnell remains Senate Leader, it will be a four year uphill battle.

Now that the NYT had to add an editors note and add additional information to the article that states the woman allegedly involved has no memory of such an incident ever occuring. That info is in the book they based the claim in the article on but they left that piece out.
