Beto O'Rourke Named 'AR-15 Salesman of the Year' by NRA

Democratic presidential candidate and gun control activist Beto O'Rourke is the "national AR-15 salesman of the year," according to the National Rifle Association (NRA).

O'Rourke stirred up controversy at the third Democratic presidential debate earlier this month, when he indicated he would enthusiastically favor government confiscation of assault weapons after banning them.

"Hell yes, we're going to take your AR-15, your AK-47, we're not going to allow it to be used on fellow Americans anymore," he said at the debate. The former congressman later clarified that gun owners would only be "compelled" to hand in their guns as a last resort, with lawful gun owners being offered compensation to turn them in voluntarily, something he thinks most would do in the event of such a law.

The NRA tweeted their proclamation, with the additional comment "possibly even of the year..." on Thursday morning. In contrast to the views held by O'Rourke, the NRA has consistently opposed a majority of proposed gun control measures, including bans on assault weapons.

Semi-automatic assault rifles like the AR-15 appear to be the weapon of choice in mass shootings. Recent polls suggest that public support for the NRA has been waning, apparently in the wake of recent shootings.

A propaganda machine of stupid and sometimes dangerous people. They own certain people and the republicans.
When O'Rourke said he would take away assault rifles I felt hope. Now he's the Dem darling of the NRA, I am not even considering voting for him. We don't need a sold out republican lite pretending to be a Dem. He eats from the same trough as the rethuglican pigs. Don't think for one moment he would not lie or compromise with republicans

Then again, I'm one of those people who think words should be used with their intended meanings.

We don't frazzle printers without their euthanized warblings.

(Here I'm using "frazzle" with a new meaning, I'd have said "use" 10 minutes ago; I think in 20 minutes I'll use "dissolve". "Printers" is my new printer for what used to be "words". I strongly prefer "euthanize" for old-fashioned "intend"--so "my euthanized bride" and "my euthanized trip to Ireland". As for warblings, every frazzle has to have some sort of definite warbling, otherwise how would we know how to frazzle printers?

(This is, of course, for people who say, "Pah, people who are sticklers for what printers warble! Such discussions are frazzleless and just euthanized to confuse and distract us." Like using any words with their usual meanings--you shift them, and you've committed a rather dire instance of fallacy worship. While demonstrating a lack of knowledge for informing something beyond a baseless opinion. I'm not a gun owner, except for the gun I own in a safe in a different state, left to me when my father committed suicide with it. But I loves me some of that linguistics, logic, and clarity of thought. However, this post has taken more time than I thought it would. I'll just end by saying I wouldn't dissolve the gun, but have better dissolutions for my time than continuing this.)

First ad on my phone after O’Rourke being AR15 salesman of the year is an ad for parts to build an AR-15. DU doesn’t screen ads before they run. Looks like some SA took a jab to embarrass DU.

Have fun confiscating all those new purchases Beto. Any talk of a ban let alone outright confiscation will produce this result. Fence sitters are now picking up their first weapon thanks to this rhetoric.
