Joe Biden calls Trump 'unhinged' in first new ad of $6 million early-state push

CNN article about the ad (used their headline for the subject line):

https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/04/politics/joe-biden-trump-early-state-campaign-ad/index.html

(CNN)Joe Biden's presidential campaign says President Donald Trump is "lying about the one Democrat he doesn't want to face" in the first new spot to be included in the former vice president's $6 million broadcast and digital advertising push across the four early-voting states.

The 30-second ad, titled "Unhinged," focuses on Biden's response to Trump's public and private efforts to get foreign governments to investigate Biden and his son Hunter. It will run in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada.

The ad is geared to show a Democratic audience that Biden, who polls show battling Sens. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Bernie Sanders of Vermont at the top of the polls, is the most electable candidate -- or at least the one Trump fears the most -- in the party's 2020 field.

It is also a response to the Trump campaign's ads in early states that include false claims about Biden, his son and Ukraine and hit Democrats for beginning impeachment proceedings over Trump's effort to pressure the Ukrainian President to investigate the Bidens. There is no evidence of wrongdoing by either Biden in Ukraine.

The Trump campaign is doing an ad blitz in the same four states starting this weekend, going after Biden. The Biden-focused ad buy totals more than $1 million, campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh confirmed to CNN. That buy is part of an overall $10 million buy from the campaign and Republican National Committee.

His quarterly fundraising was quite disappointing for a VP of an immensely popular President. The former Senator from Delaware doesn't want to go bankrupt before Iowa. He wasn't able to even get to Iowa his first time around, and didn't make it to New Hampshire for the second time at the dance. This is no time to blow what little cash he has left.

It is not the overall fundraising that matters but how much the candidate has left to spend …..It does no good to have raised a zillion dollars if 99% of it has already been spent ...I believe I heard news that Warren still has 25 million in the bank

What is "Swedish" Donald Trump going to say about Liz after the last election cycle was the second "Year of the Woman"? I'd list the attacks on Clinton, but I don't want to parrot RW lines of attack. But think about each one of the major attacks on Clinton's record as Sec. of State and post-Obama administration, see if anything remotely like that would stick to Elizabeth Warren.

All of those lines of attack were complete and total BS, and Clinton still got the second highest number of votes in US history. Her loss had less to do with misogynistic attacks and more to do with severe strategic blunders by the campaign in terms of the electoral map.

Clinton didn't spend nearly enough time in Michigan, and skipped campaigning in Wisconsin pretty much altogether.

Milwaukee is the site of our convention this time around, and don't doubt for a second that Ms. Selfie Line is going to spend her time doing the Rust Belt grind instead of schmoozing in LA and shooting episodes of Broad City for the swing vote of feminist New Yorkers (I love that show).

Come on folks - the most likely outcome is a majority vote to convict yet they don't get the 2/3 that they need so Trump-fool remains PROTUS. Why do we assume that his opponent will be Biden. I think Biden is not likely to be the opponent. I'm hoping that the we the dems are smarter than that.

for the Democratic primary and often beating Trump by double digits in the GE polls.

That's why Trump was so afraid of him, and why they've tried so hard to hurt Biden.

Or at least one small scene in an ad featuring Trump's unstable idiocy. Trump imagining Biden at the fore of a Viking ship, off to pillage all the nations of the world.

I worry about Biden's reputation, with the smearing that Trump has been engaging in, and perhaps making fun of it might break the spell he is trying to weave.
