Warren dismisses top staffer for inappropriate behavior

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/warren-dismisses-top-staffer-inappropriate-behavior-66083576?cid=clicksource_4380645_null_hero_hed

Elizabeth Warren's presidential campaign has dismissed its national organizing director following "multiple complaints" of inappropriate behavior.

Spokeswoman Kristen Orthman says the campaign received complaints about Rich McDaniel over the past two weeks and retained outside counsel to conduct an investigation. McDaniel was fired after the campaign determined that his reported conduct was "inconsistent" with its values.

Word of the dismissal was first reported by Politico.

In a statement to Politico, McDaniel said he "would never intentionally engage in any behavior inconsistent with the campaign or my own values" and he wished his former colleagues well.

McDaniel worked on Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential bid and Doug Jones' successful Senate run in Alabama in 2017.

in this environment these days. In tight. Whatever he was doing.

He should have taken a lesson from the Obamas, and from Hillary. Democratic pols can't get away with "normal" behavior that's less than unimpeachably, squeaky, boringly clean. Our black president and first lady had known it for years and didn't relax their rigid standards for a moment. Hillary kept insisting she should be able to, and didn't. Get away with relaxing behavior to mainstream standards.

Not if you're black. Not if you're Hillary. Not if you're in the middle of a presidential campaign that IS a women's issue. Not if you're a staffer for a Democratic politician.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
