https://www.mediaite.com/politics/tommy-christopher-slams-media-coverage-of-biden-warren-and-harris-black-voters-are-being-erased/HillTV host Krystal Ball asked Christopher for his thoughts on how the media has really given [Elizabeth] Warren a pass on certain issues, and Christopher said he and others have observed that the press is her base.
Its been my observation that I think basically the problem with this coverage is black voters are being erased, he continued. Part of thats because the media is overwhelmingly white, and Warrens support is overwhelmingly white, and people mention that, but its always couched in really sort of offensive and dismissive terms.
Christopher made his point by referring to his recent coverage of Mark McKinnon, who recently said on CNN that black voters will come aboard for Warren if she wins Iowa and New Hampshire.
He also pointed out that Joe Biden has a huge lead with black voters that continues to grow even as Warren closes with him nationally, but noted that as Fox News Jessica Tarlov recently wrote, the media speaks about Bidens popularity with black voters as if they always just assume that its because they think Biden can win, and thats it.

(8,144 posts)any democrat in the GE, so why pay attention to their preference in the primarywhich will change on a dime anyway.
THEY unquestionably vote for whomever has the best chance at winning. THEY are purely pragmatic. THEY are not capable of forming opinions based on qualifications, knowledge, experience, comparative strengths, like us whites. THEY dont have any particular loyalty
to a candidate.
Candidates are interchangeable to THEM.
This is the thinking, perhaps unconscious, behind medias dismissal of the racial gap it refuses to
examine except through a white-centric viewpoint. So instead, it promotes enthusiasm gap.
Further, media seldom invites black supporters to discuss Biden, only select black commentators who strongly oppose his candidacy, as its a here. A black guest. Must represent you. Black people all share same opinions.
To call all of this white-centric is to be polite and euphemistic. Black voters dont count is an attitude sitting on top thinly veiled racism.
